IMO, I can doubt the FUNimation Channel being launched here, once FUNimation Channel gets to air Kai and gets their CRTC license as a regular cable channel.

Um... I'm not refering to the FUNImation channel. And CRTC licensing is what LETS you make a cable channel over here, not what prevents you.SilverPlaqueVII wrote:IMO, I can doubt the FUNimation Channel being launched here, once FUNimation Channel gets to air Kai and gets their CRTC license as a regular cable channel.

In the Future, FUNimation Channel (I doubt) will be available in Canada soon in these conditions:Baby Naruto wrote:Then what prevents you from making a channel?Dayspring wrote:Um... These channels appear in Part 2 (Section A), Part 3, and DTH (Section A) of the List of Eligible Satellite Services. As such, they can be carried on a discretionary basis by a Class 1 or 2 cable company, on the basic tier or a discretionary basis by a Class 3 cable company, or on a discretionary basis by a DTH company

The whole "99 episodes" thing is still going around, even on the press release! Has there been any confirmation of this yet?The 99-episode series will continue to roll out Monday through Thursday at 8:00 p.m. ET.

I'm not exactly sure how this works, but is it possible that FUNimation simply licensed 99 episodes since that's Toei's current estimation (even though by doing the math, it seems like an impossible number)?dragondyle wrote:Press Release: http://blog.funimation.com/2010/05/drag ... nicktoons/

It has to be impossible, the Artificial Humans/Cell Arc has just started with 55.dragondyle wrote:

No way they can fit that arc and the Buu arc in 46 episodes.

They could fit in all of the Cell saga, though...

I don't think they'd not include the Buu arc in Kai. I mean, it's an arc from the manga, why not include it?
Re: U.S.'s Nicktoons TV Adds Dragon Ball Z Kai in May
By Kaiser's logic, we'd get another Happinet update by the time broadcast got up there.
But 45 episodes? Hmmm...I guess a lot of the hunting of Imperfect Cell shall be retained.

Re: U.S.'s Nicktoons TV Adds Dragon Ball Z Kai in May
I figure that, like the first episode count number, 99 is a rough estimate. They were about to fit 11.5 volumes of the manga into 55 episodes. They can likely fit the other 14.5 into something around 45 to 65 episodes. Consider how much foot-dragging there is in Dragonball Z after Trunks shows up, it's not as hard as you'd think to condense it down to something a bit more manga-centric.KaiserNeko wrote:Nope.dan2026 wrote:It has to be impossible, the Artificial Humans/Cell Arc has just started with 55.dragondyle wrote:

I feel super worried for the "Buu" saga. Even if they skip the Great Saiyaman saga and the other world Tournament completely.....Cell + Buu = FAR more the 46 episodes.
How much filler was there after Buu hatches until the end? They need more than 100 episodes.

I don't think they'll be ending it with the Cell arc. It's probably just a mistake.

It's likely an estimate just like before. They can finish it with about 130 episodes total.
Re: U.S.'s Nicktoons TV Adds Dragon Ball Z Kai in May
Just as fifty was a placeholder for when planning got further along ahead, I think 99 is just a place-holder as well. Condensing the next 170 or so episodes of Dragon Ball Z into fourty-four Kai episodes seems a tad much.

I really liked the Buu saga filler too. That entire portion of Z never got monotonous IMO.
Re: U.S.'s Nicktoons TV Adds Dragon Ball Z Kai in May
They wont skip the Great Saiyaman stuff (although I think a lot of it was filler), or the Buu arc for that matter.LeprikanGT wrote:I feel super worried for the "Buu" saga. Even if they skip the Great Saiyaman saga and the other world Tournament completely.....Cell + Buu = FAR more the 46 episodes.
Judging from the TV ratings I've seen, DB Kai has been a big success in Japan. (Not exactly a huge surprise)
There would be no reason at all to stop after Cell.
Re: U.S.'s Nicktoons TV Adds Dragon Ball Z Kai in May
Did Nicktoons update their Dragon Ball Z Kai website, or has it always been like that? They have three videos titled "new", and some other stuff about the characters.
