The Dragon Box having the original endings with Japanese credits (thank you, Dragon Box) allowed me to notice something. Masako Nozawa, most of the time, is credited as playing both Son Goku and Son Gohan. She's mentioned once, with a little line like this > pointing from her name to her characters. When Son Goten is introduced, it increases to three lines. For the most part, Goku and Gohan have lines in every single episode thus far released in Dragon Box format.

After Goku disappears with the explosion of Namek, Goku doesn't have any in-episode lines for a few episodes, yet Nozawa is still credited as playing both Goku and Gohan. I figured this was because Goku was still doing the next episode previews, so she was still being credited as such. However, about an episode or two before Goku returns to Earth, the credits changed, and now only showed Nozawa as playing Gohan, with no mention of Goku. Goku was still doing the previews, as usual, and I think even had a brief grunt or line in a flashback.

What's stranger, is even after Goku lands on Earth, that episode still has no mention of Goku in the credits, but then it goes back to normal in the episode following.

I've also noticed that the framing of the opening and ending credits changes with each episode. It's more noticeable with the ending credits, thanks to the infamous shot of everyone running on the planet. On some episodes, I can barely see Lunch's right arm, yet in others, I can see her entire body, and can just barely see Yajirobe's right arm at the edge of the screen.

Damn, my mom won't let me buy it from RightStuf because it says that a photo of the credit card has to be taken. Does anyone know how to get them to ship it without the whole credit card photo thing? Or how to convince my mom that RightStuf isn't trying to steal her information?

I've never had to do that in order to purchase from them, perhaps it's something to do with being an international buyer. But I can assure you that Rightstuf is a legitimate buissness that will not steal your money and/or information.

RightStuf also, as far as I know, allows you to pay by cheque or money order.

However, I did sign up with an Australian account at RightStuf and got to the final order screen without any request for a photograph of my credit card.

I would use a money order then if that's the case.

It must be that you are an international buyer, I've never had to do that with any site.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Rightstuf is Funimation's store now no?

That's why I've never ordered anything from Rightstuf. If I did order from Rightstuf there was always a chance I would be charged import taxes because the DBoxes are over £18. ringworm128 if you don't order with Rightstuf you can always try AxelMusic, I bought both of the DBoxes from them and everything was great.

If RightStuf were trying to steal information, they would've done it ages ago to the rest of us. The store's been around since 1997, hence the "1997-2010" copyright notice at the bottom of the page. You'd think that if it were a scam site we would've figured it out by now and advised you to not order from there.

I've ordered with a check with no problems, but unfortunately RightStuf doesn't accept international checks. Money orders apparently are fine though.
RightStuf Customer Service wrote:If you are paying by mail, we also accept money orders and domestic checks. Please make all checks and money orders payable to: The Right Stuf International, Inc.. Rightstuf is an awesome store. Since my second DBOX purchase I've gone nowhere else but there to buy anime stuff.
And with their "GotAnime" membership you save 10 percent off the listed price. :)
Speaking of which... I just got my Dragon Box, Volume 3 today in the mail and was totally orgasmic!
Now it's 10pm, I'm tired as hell from university and work but regardless of that I'm putting Disc 1 in the PS2 and starting to enjoy the beauty.

I got my box today, and I've been watching the episodes, and something strange happened:

Schemmel's early Goku doesn't sound NEARLY as bad as I always remembered it being. Sure, it still doesn't hold a candle to his Cell saga-onward work, but it was actually quite decent sounding. Certain scenes I remember cringing at actually sound okay now. Perhaps it's the awesomeness of the Dragon Box raining down on the voices?

PS: And since I know Schemmel is possibly reading this, I think you're awesome now and far and away the best Goku out there, I'm just not a fan of the very early Frieza saga work.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Don't feel bad. Based on his comments on growing as an actor and whatnot, I doubt he's a fan of his early work either. :P

Honestly, I know people have gone on about how it sounds incongruous or brings out the English version's flaws even more, but I find it really does smooth out some of the early stuff.

Oh, yeah, definitely. While there are some dub scenes that totally aren't written for the way the music is arranged, it's impossible to deny that better music just makes everything better.

I've watched the Season 3 set with the Japanese score plenty of times and each time he still sounded bad. But then again, I haven't watched the Frieza saga episodes in about 6 months, so maybe that's it?

And besides, the Japanese score makes everything worse to me, as not being able to switch over to the dub score to truly enjoy scenes leaves nothing but a sour taste in my mouth, and that taste will likely get a bajillion times worse once I get Dragon Box 4.
