You completely missed my point and even that scene looks meh compared to Vegeta vs Pui Pui.Or you could use a scene that is actually more directly comparable instead of cherry picking the worst looking part of the fight from episode 50.

If that was the case Kami wouldn't have offered his job as "God" to Goku. The only reason he did so was because he saw that Goku was much stronger than him. Becuase I sure as hell know that Kami didn't think that Goku would have the intelligence and proper integrity to diligently look after a planet. Plus, Beerus and Whis are totally both Gods. Whis has use of Goldy Ki and Beerus is, well, God Of Destruction. Dende and Kami and more special cases because their role was more to ensure that Shenlong doesn't die for real and the Dragon Ball's don't fade from existence. Besides, how do you think the rank of a God is even determined?z_cherub wrote:Flawed logic. New gods introduced are more powerful than the previous gods, sure. But there's also always some non-god more powerful than said gods. The ONLY exception has been Beerus, & that's pretty recent given DB's 30 year history. Even then, you could argue Whis is more powerful & isn't technically a god.Lord Beerus wrote:Except that every new hierarchy of Gods that are introduced are always much stronger than the last. Otherwise, Goku would've been classified a god since he was a child.
Again, being a god in DB has always been about rank & not power. Otherwise, Kami and Dende couldn't have been God for so long.

False. Goku's pure heart factored in. Anything else?Lord Beerus wrote:If that was the case Kami wouldn't have offered his job as "God" to Goku. No, it wasn't. Kami makes no mention of Goku being pure hearted at all. He just sees that Goku defeat Piccolo Jr. and concluded that Goku was strong enough to take the mantle of "God". That's it.z_cherub wrote:False. Goku's pure heart factored in. Anything else?

Zero mention of strength being a factor.
To be fair, he didn't mention pure heartedness, either, but to assume it's strength alone is a leap that is unfounded at best, incorrect at worst.
Re: DBZ vs DBS - Animation [Comparing Objectively]
DBz had some awesome animated episodes. Like ussj vegeta vs cell, then the next episode with the same fight, animation was totally different and they looked ridiculous lol.
Same with majin vegeta vs goku, awesome drawn characters, then again ridiculous looking one next episode.
DB super, also shares this. Some episodes are very nicely done, some are pretty ridiculous hehe.
Tho, amuzingly, z fighters vs freeza's men was much better drawn than goku vs freeza lol. Those 2 episodes were quite an eye sore in some shots. I dont have that high standards for animation, but some of the moments, were pretty bad. Granted i still enjoy the anime fight much more than the film one.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Yep. While movie was nice, it was short. While in the anime it was longer and more stuff happened.kinisking wrote:IN ROF?!!buutenks wrote:DBz had some awesome animated episodes. In bog, movie fight was boring. The only good part was when goku turned ssj and flew out of the cave.
But, anime I enjoyed it fully.
Re: DBZ vs DBS - Animation [Comparing Objectively]
He was also equal to Goku in his 4th form and completely dominated him in his golden form which not only made him a bigger threat but also gave Vegeta's victory more weight cause up to that point no one was able to touch him.buutenks wrote:Yep. Everyone minus Goku watching with their mouths hanging open was also a nice touch.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I felt the ROF fight for Goku was shit. Even if it was longer, it just wasnt enjoyable. Movie>>>>>>>>>anime. Vegeta was much better in the anime though.buutenks wrote:Yep. Re: DBZ vs DBS - Animation [Comparing Objectively]
As much as i enjoy and like dbs, i think that it's obvious that dbz has better animation.
It's just like Ajay said, until things improve, it'll always be like this.
In fact, every single time i've thought: "wow this scene is great" in terms of animations, it's due to the fact, that i had for a moment the same feeling i had with Z, i've never watched any scene wich made me thought: "wow, this is better animated than the best of Z".
https://youtu.be/jfHBrhMM5bk i think that Zeon has a lot of good points making this comparison.

Well, I rewatched the anime fight, while movie, I haven't touched since the anime got to that point.kinisking wrote:I felt the ROF fight for Goku was shit. While the animation was nice, I felt like since there is a much longer version of that fight, even if the animation isn't as good, I'd prefer to watch that.

It will. Any new project inevitably will. Komura Toshi'aki left Dragon Ball Super as a storyboard artist to become the series director for Tiger Mask W, so it explains where he has been for the last seven months, too.coola wrote:Tiger Mask (Very popular anime in Europe from 60's and 80's) continuation is coming this fall, i wonder if it will affect Super animation? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdIexLN-R0Q

I loved Tiger Mask as a kid, but I see no point in continuing a show that should've been over in 80s.
Re: DBZ vs DBS - Animation [Comparing Objectively]
I find it funny you state that considering Dragon Ball, the main series we're viewing, had a revival. It's just a matter of replacing the proper noun and decade and you're applying a sentiment that could apply to this and many other series.

Re: DBZ vs DBS - Animation [Comparing Objectively]
I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but the old-school style isn't going to work with the modern animation nowadays. It works fine with cels, but in the digital era it's the best that everyone move on to new stuff. The closest they should be going to is 2008 OVA special, barring the Super Saiyan color, of course.

Re: DBZ vs DBS - Animation [Comparing Objectively]
You could say the same thing for Dragon Ball. I don't mind bringing back old series if enough time has past. Not to mention, it can interdouced new people to the franchise. Look at Jojo, I have been a big fan of Jojo long before the new anime series even existed. The OVA series from 1993-2000 was the only Jojo that the Western fans can really watch. It amazes me how it big that it has become despite being around for decades. The new Ushio and Tora anime did really well too despite ending 20 years ago. It was mainly a obscure old school anime title before 2015 (I remember seeing the original anime back in 1998 or 1999 as a kid).DragonHermit wrote:I loved Tiger Mask as a kid, but I see no point in continuing a show that should've been over in 80s.

Re: DBZ vs DBS - Animation [Comparing Objectively]
What do you mean by this exactly? An art-style is not intrinsically bound to the tools used. The style didn't change because the animation is done digitally, it changed because Yamamuro's personal art style changed.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but the old-school style isn't going to work with the modern animation nowadays.
There's no reason the characters couldn't still be drawn in the old style (or, more accurately, one of the number of variations of style that appeared in the original run) in the modern animation.
