Nah, it's cool. I was just being a jerk, stuff happening here and all that.DBHighDefinition wrote:No, come on. Don't do that. I'm sorry, it's just my blunt sense of humour.
Anyway, yeah, I mean it's obvious that there's a percentage of fans who are buying these (including me) not because I'm easily tricked but because I like the idea of buying around 30-35 episodes of Dragon Ball Z, with the Japanese audio and Steve Simmons' subtitles at 20-30 bucks a pop. I don't have eleven million dollars for the Dragon Box and if I did, I wouldn't spend it to watch a series with no subtitles in a language I only have a peripheral knowledge of.

I have another question that'll hopefully get this potential season set debate #7957 off everybody's minds.
So are there still alternate angles? If you choose the Japanese version, do the Japanese title cards and ending credits appear?
If so, then that's great news for collectors. It would also mean that we can finally have Japanese credits for something other than episode one.

Yes there are still alternate angles. But you have to choose them manually, they don't automatically come on if you put the Japanese audio on.MagicBox wrote:I have another question that'll hopefully get this potential season set debate #7957 off everybody's minds.

Well, you probably have to change it in the menu beforehand.Tsukento wrote:Now that's retarded. o_ODBHighDefinition wrote:Yes there are still alternate angles. But you have to choose them manually, they don't automatically come on if you put the Japanese audio on.

That'd be normal if that's the case. I'm hoping that's still the case and that he meant it doesn't come up when you randomly switch the audio to Japanese while playing.jjgp1112 wrote:Well, you probably have to change it in the menu beforehand.

As much as i'd love to say your right...your not. There is NO option on the menu's to change angles, you have to use your DVD remote's "angle" button to change it...Tsukento wrote:That'd be normal if that's the case. No no. I meant that when you go to the Language menu, it gives you the usual English and Japanese audio options. Selecting Japanese and then starting from there gave you the audio and the Japanese title cards.DBHighDefinition wrote:As much as i'd love to say your right...your not. SSj Kaboom wrote:Eh, don't misunderstand me. I'm kind of in the middle. I realize full well the dub has its flaws, but so long as I have the choice to watch whichever version I want //tips hat to FUNi//, I can usually enjoy the dub in its own way. Part of it may be for nostalgic reasons and a subsequent "attachment" to the cast, but it's mostly because I don't really care so long as I have the Japanese version anyway. So let's just say I don't mind the dub, but I probably wouldn't pay for a release that ONLY includes the dub.Chrono Trigger wrote:I feel like you and SSj Kaboom are in the minority though.
I'm looking forward to watching Season Seven with the 5.1 dub track on, with the subs for the Japanese version so I can compare dialogue. The Buu arc was what got me into DragonBall altogether, and I'm gonna have a blast watching through it again, regardless of which language.
Thats exactly the same way I feel, I would never buy a box set of an anime series with just one language, I love having the choice. Even though I still havent got around to watching any japanese dbz(aside from movies 1 and 2)I will at some point.

Yes it does.theoriginalbilis wrote:So, me get this straight. The dub does at least have "We Were Angels" on the 5.1 track, right?

I think we're jumping the gun a bit.Captain Awesome wrote:Ick.
This is definitely a step back from the last set.
Also it appears FUNi didn't zoom in that much on the old 4:3 singles, so the cropping is much more noticeable this time around.
