A battle of ultimate forms is something people would want to see.

Maybe so but Goku fighting him in base instead isn't going to affect the movies gross in any significant way. Introducing the form in the last movie will but having it again when it's no longer new won't.

How could they not? They can make a regular Goku, SSJ Goku, SSJG Goku, Beerus, Vegeta, SSJ Vegeta, etc. More forms means more merch.

I'm sure there's a limit on what these companies want to make and what they think will sell. I know personally that if all three were available to buy then I would only buy the one. I wouldn't pay money for the same thing again except this one has different coloured hair.

If anything they should just multiple detachable heads in with the toy that you can swap.

It won't have as big of an effect, but they have nothing to gain from using base forms money wise. Not including SSJ looses a big aspect of the Freeza arc.

They could go that route, either way more forms more merch.

I am personally amazed at how quickly Funimation is getting this movie out into theaters. I never expected them to actually get it out so quick! And no fair only LA gets a subtitled premiere? How about NYC!! Haha. East coast represent! I am thrilled by how quickly we will get it dubbed. But I would also like to see it subtitled!

Also I really like the title they went with.

Now that I think about it did BoG foreshadow the events of this movie?
I say this because of the scene where Beerus walks up to base Goku checks him out and says he couldn't beat Freeza like this.
Now in RF we indeed have have Freeza kicking the crap out of Goku in his new base form.

GT is a sequel to the animated series but these movies are being written as continuations of the manga.

Yeah, but it was not published as manga, that's the difference.

It's on the dance alone that shows character development. It's why he did it, the circumstances that he was under, and what it cost him (his pride). Context his everything here. If he were to just up and go "Hey, time to do a jig!" and started strutting on stage for no reason then, no, that wouldn't be development. But the context of his Bingo dance in the film is.

I liked the way he got mad because Beerus hit Bulma, not his suddenly ridiculous power-up by rage after that, but the scene as a whole and that's was a better development than his Bingo Dance.

It doesn't have to be published as a manga to be part of the manga storyline.

Vegeta don't need a character development anymore, I mean he had it all in Boo Arc, I don't see how they could develop him even more... Why doesn't he need more development? What's wrong with giving a character development? And the dance wasn't exactly a developing act in itself, it was more proof to how he developed over the Buu arc. Both the Rage Boost and the Bingo dance do a good job at this. They both show how much he cares for the family, friends, and the home he has now.

Even if I had no idea who Mr. Toriyama was, I would find your down putting of him extremely disrespectful and needlessly negative and offensive.

The fact that I DO know who he is, and understand that our community and all the nostalgia, positivity, inspiration and comfort that comes with, exists... Many people will be disappointed not seeing Goku go SSJ. It's an iconic aspect of the series. I can already see dozens ask "why isn't Goku going SSJ?! Of course he's losing! wtf" This is bound to alienate casual fans. Honestly, it's a concept that's hard to understand even among hardcore fans because Goku was clearly a SSJ when he fought Beerus.

SSJG is too new of a concept for people to care about, especially since its design was panned by a majority of people.

If Toriyama wasn't involved with BoG we would have essentially gotten Garlic Jr. Saga 2.0 with Lizard Beerus's mind controlling Goku's friends and having them fight each other.

Sources said he won't be going SSJ for the entirety of the movie. And in the trailer, Goku is never once seen powering up into SSJG either, yet he's curbstomped by Frieza. SSJG Vegeta may appear though.

Just "Akira" actually is kind of rude. It shows a lack of respect, even if unintentionally.

And more importantly, it's a really freaking common name. (And gender-neutral, to boot.)

It'd be like us having a thread on voice actors in the English dub, and referring to Chris Ayres, Chris Sabat, Chris Rager, Chris Cason, and, say, Christine Marten (Lunch in the dub of Sleeping Princess of Devil's Castle), simply as "Chris". It'd be confusing as all get-out, and would probably drive Kirbopher15 up the wall.

Goku doesn't SSJ1/2/3 anymore after absorbing SSJG powers.

Plus he's being trained by the strongest character in the series, therefore his base form should way more powerful than any of his SSJ forms.

Whether Toriyama was involved or not it would still be on an entirely different level from the other movies. The others are lucky to even be considered movies as they're practically just two episodes of filler stuck together.

The animation, the score, Beerus, the humour, the runtime, the whole cast showing up and more all put Battle of Gods leagues above the best of the older movies.

None of the others could even begin to compare in any way, literally.
