I liked the newest manga chapter. Loved the interaction between Mai and the Pilaf gang, and everyone just talking. Also finally got my wish of seeing Zamasu interact with Zeno. Only thing I disliked was it was missing the somber feeling that I feel the end of the arc needs. Toei got that perfectly, Toyo just treated it as a happy ending. I wonder if Toriyama somehow saw this as a happy ending and Toei went "wtf man this is bittersweet at best"

What's the highest yet?

A bit stunned that Trunks didn't get a new form but I suppose that's what SSG Vegeta replaced. The Trunks transformation was indeed strange, I guess Toyotaro tries to be more simplistic and not complicate power scales any further. Even though that will only get him so far. At least this saga is finally over!

That's the most jarring thing about the chapter. It's treating Future Trunks losing everything as more of a happy ending when it really isn't a happy ending. At all. The anime went for the bittersweet route and it works far better tonally.

Ladies, gents, please keep this post in mind:
VegettoEX wrote:As manga spoilers begin to hit, please remember that you do not have the full context for what you are looking at. The chapter releases officially and in full (in Japanese in Shueisha's V-Jump magazine, and in English for free on Viz's website) on the 21st of each month.

Unfortunately, past member behavior around this time period has been... spotty at best, and reprehensible at worst. There's just something about a total lack of context that seems to bring out the worst in us. Let's keep that in mind, strive to do better, and attempt to add something worthwhile to the conversation rather than slapping some rash, drive-by commentary on the page. If you don't have much to say just yet (a few words / a couple lines do not a post make; this is not a chat room), that's OK; you'll have something worth saying when you read the full chapter. Please reconsider if you have a post worth making right now.

We can and will temporary lock this thread should it be necessary; likewise, we can and will issue account strikes for posts that do not live up to the community guidelines. You do not want these.

Hate to be a bummer around the rest of the excitement going on, but recent history sure has taught us a lesson.
That said, the leak looks amusing. Zamas fleeing in terror like a coward is the kind of death a villain like him deserves. Writing isn't about making characters look cool, or giving them "pretty" deaths. It's about doing what's appropriate for the story or the given character. A haughty villain like Zamas exists solely so you can watch his fall from grace.
When will it be Ledgic's time to shine?

Reading some summaries, teasers, and seeing some images = You don't know everything calm down until the episode comes out....as well as after.
Seeing only a few pages, not able to understand the dialogue = Judge as much as you like.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Damn, the second half of the chapter has so much text. I really need to know how Trunks and Mai goodbye and where they actually go to is handled.
The first half, it's pretty nice.

Absolute Zamasu losing his shit is great. Toyotarõ did a great job writing the character. Yeah, the dude isn't a badass like the anime version. He's an idealist and an insecure coward. Cocky bastard when he's ahead, scared child when he's behind.
It's a great ending for the character, it works great thematically in the manga; at the hands of the Supreme God, who he avoided the whole time, while claiming himself to be the Ultimate God.

Oh Zamasu, you were truly pathetic. Sad to see you wasting all that potential. Gowasu certainly deserves blame, how couldn't he see it.

The panel of Zeno-chan raising his hands to destroy everything is awesome.(Please don't be a copy from another scene :P )
The mass Zamasus also has some nice panels.

Really need to know the translation to form a better opinion.

Yeah, it's incredibly weird. It's really the only thing I dislike about the chapter, but I'm withholding the full opinion until it's translated. Also curious what Beerus said to Trunks

Honestly wasn't a bad ending all things considered. As for the next arc I can't wait to see the ceremonial scene we saw in the trailer, and I'm looking forward to seeing how Toyo handles drawing so many varied characters in scenes and battles.

I daresay that will probably be August's chapter, with the Zen Exhibition Matches taking place in September, October, and November; the recruitment in December, and the Tournament properly starting in January

I just Love Zeno in This chapter. This was indeed a great way to kill off the mz army,my dream have come true,I just wish a MZ punch Zeno in the face, only to realize he screwed up there. I'm just laughing out loud when Zamasu ran away, truly the funniest scene in the manga, screw the haters, This was as good when zeno erased cloud zamas

If the actual tournament won't start till January I wonder if Toyo will show the recruitment drive in other universes. Would be nice to see the Pride Troopers on a mission like we saw in the anime.

Meh I'm still not a fan of the ending, I don't how to feel about the Manga Top,they better make the recruitment process more interesting, like maybe focusing on the other Universe More

I really doubt the exhibition matches will be in the manga. I think it was filler material to stretch out the intro for the tournament. I think the next chapter will be the chat with Zeno, the announcement and the start of recruitment.

If the exhibition match is in the manga, they can easily cram three fights in a chapter. Buu, Gohan and Goku's fights can be easily put in 6 to 7 pages which is would easily cover a full chapter.

LMAO. Zamasu told the heroes he'll follow them to the past by using Universe 12's time machines. They were screwed.

Gokû with his face stuck to the glass gave me a laugh.
I also liked that his and Vegeta's matching tank tops/pajamas are back

Other than that...
There's nothing that could've been done to save the ending outside of drastic changes, imo. It's an unsatisfying conclusion.

Funny how this Universe 12 is mentioned yet isn't remotely expanded upon, at least not yet.

Well, didn't want the timeline destroyed, but at least the panel of one ring disappearing settles it, it's completely gone, not just one universe, all the timeline.

I have other concerns to comment, but I'll wait for the translations. But the feeling is not good.

The part of the Zamasu army does look great and totally intimidating. Goku and Vegeta accepting their fatal fate to go and die fighting together is so cool too.

Oh and future Mai reacting to see Pilaf again is nice. And the two black cats with Dr Brief! By the way, looks like Pilaf is making some kind of important contribution.

This is interesting, I didn't expect it.

Why is Trunks not healing Mai?
Why can Kibito easily heal everyone to full strength while Trunks can only heal one SSB up to full strength?
The Trunks healing is poorly thought out..
