I am not relying on the heavily abridged comic to provide all the details to the story. Dialogue is truncated, scenes are cut, and you don't get the full story.

Also, kind of glad Trunks and Goten aren't in the movie. They'd most likely just waste time, honestly, and less focus on Saiyans the better. As far as Yamcha goes, let's be honest... He's the weakest out of him, Tenshinhan and Kuririn. Roshi being there is for quirkiness and novelty. Mr. Buu not being there isn't surprising at ALL, considering he has very little stake in the battle that he knows of.

I'm just hoping the film isn't entirely devoid of humor. Unfortunately, I think that's what a lot of folks who disliked BoG have been clamoring for... :\

Regarding Boo sleeping for only about 5 seconds: that's how much he needs. If a human in real life is capable of sleeping more than he needs, then it's entirely possible to see a character with Boo's personality choosing to sleep longer than he needs. His personality type could literally lead to him not getting out of bed simply because said bed is more comfortable than fighting. Hell, Beerus would sleep for centuries if Whis would let him.

As for Trunks and Goten, the reason of Bulma not wanting them involved is only weak if it pertains to wanting them to study/not skip class. That's pure DB fun logic right there.

Yamcha not being there makes sense. He's long acknowledged that he's useless in these types of fights. He's super elite by human standards, but still nowhere near on par with the other humans, all of whom are considered weak. Tenshinhan being there kind of makes sense since we were long promised the results of him exploiting Kaio's training, but never shown those results.

Jaco being there makes sense: "Now's our chance to get rid of him and to weaken Freeza's army all that same time! Jaco: go save Earth, uhhh...because you're so good at this thing! Yeah, that's it."

Bulma fighting: Bulma was on Namek and present when Mecha Freeza showed up. Thematically, it makes sense for her to be present. Fighting with guns would be interesting too, since we've seen in Jaco what her weaponry can be like. Now add several decades of improvements.

Kamesennin fighting makes sense if we assume he's fighting the weakest goons Freeza has to offer. He's the old man jokes! Who's going to replace that, Mr. Satan? I don't think so.

鳥山明「フリーザの復活、ということさえテーマが決まれば、

　　　　忘れやすいボクといえど、よく覚えていました

No Buu, eh? No Gotenks either? Just the Freeza arc gang, plus Roshi and Tenshinhan? A few minutes ago, I thought that this movie couldn't possibly disappoint me anymore due to my expectations being so low that they're next to dinosaur bones. Well, I stand corrected. It still manages to find a way. Good show, movie. Good show.

Also, I like how Ten just casually mentions how he left Yamcha at home for being too pathetically weak. It gives me a mental image of Tenshinhan as the stern, strict father, and Yamcha as the bratty kid that gets sent to his room. Also, it's too dangerous for Yamcha to come, but Roshi is there.

Nobody has the full details, nobody has seen the movie, yet people still seem genuinely upset. That's ridiculous to me, as it does nothing but harbor a negative, pessimistic attitude about something we should be happy is even being made in the first place.

While I can't say I'm the biggest fans of Goten, Trunks, or Yamcha, it does make me a bit sad that they may not be in the film. I was kind of hoping this movie would show everyone beating the tar of Freeza's henchmen in an epic fashion with each person showing off in their own way, like Goten and Trunks fusing in front of Freeza or Boo turning people into chocolate... Ah well... Still excited for the movie though.
