So assuming the 'Whis can time travel' thing is accurate (with respect to the translators, they do have a tendency to be off on the odd thing every once in a while), I'm guessing this is foreshadowing the fact that Earth gets destroyed during the fight but Whis is able to have this all undone.

Funny, I was thinking about this exact situation this morning. I was leaning more towards Kaio or Kaioshin and Whis being able to rebuild worlds however, as mentioned in Battle of Gods. While it was never outright stated that Whis could do this, I believe it was mentioned in promotional material at one point.

Hm sounds like that could come into play...

I think that's what will happen:
*Freeza wins and destroys Earth.
*Beerus and Whis arrive and look upon all the destruction and criticises Goku and Vegeta for being too soft, but they allow the planet to be restored only if Goku and/or Vegeta come with them to another universe or something akin to how the first part of the Piccolo Daimao arc ended(Kami granting Goku's wish, but on the condition, that Goku would train under him).

I had a feeling chapter 2 wouldn't reveal too much, haha. But there was some pretty cool stuff.
- Goku and Vegeta training with Whis. I can NOT wait to see this animated, with the two arguing with eachother. Ha. Vegeta calling Goku a blockhead. That is SO Vegeta.
- Whis pointing out their weaknesses. Very interesting to see how the two warriors will grow from his criticism and training.
- Whis can time travel. Awesome. I wonder, if earth is destroyed like in the trailer, could Whis take someone back in time a few seconds to stop Frieza from destroying earth? Say... Vegeta?

And something VERY interesting from my second point... Whis states that Goku can get overconfident, and that Vegeta needs to relax and not overstrain himself mentally. Foreshadowing?

So the thing training Goku&Vegeta doesn't have a name but instead he's a life form called Whis ? Does this mean there are more of him ?

In terms of Vegeta,when he would fight it turns out he was never in full power due to him over straining his mind and in terms of Goku it looks like the reason he'll lose against Freeza isn't because he's weaker then him but because he gets over Overconfident.

And if Vegeta wins I think it'll be because he listens to Whis and lets his body do the fighting rather then his mind.

How does Goku get overconfident? Can someone refresh my memory? He hasn't been overconfident ever since his training with Popo and Kami, and when he is, it's because of the SSJ transformations.

Completely missing the entire point of how characters and writers work, but whatever. If things don't go Vegeta's way and you call the movie bad because of it, I will hold you to that.

It's great that Toriyama is having someone win and the other lose due to other reasons then power.

If Goku loses then it's not because he's weak but overconfident and if Vegeta wins then it's not because he's stronger then Goku but because he's taking the fight seriously and not burning his brain out like in his other fights.

Um they weren't the last line of defense even there. Goku himself could have taken out Boo at any time. He literally chose them to do it when he could have done it.

Fair enough. Although there was the whole "I want the living to defend the living world" thing Goku was on about. So Goku had his reasons there, just like Bulma has her reasons here. I wouldn't say that either are extremely pragmatic in these two situations, but I think it's understandable for the characters to have these kinds of fallible lapses in judgment from time to time.

They seem to. Gohan even seems to say the same line that he thinks he can go Super Saiyan.

The "Dende send everyone a message" line from the translation likewise seems to somewhat parallel the whole "we need everyone" line from the blog. And that comes before people being left out. So "we need everyone" but "these people should probably stay out of it". Perhaps they're conflicted, perhaps they'll regret not bringing these extra people, who knows. Would certainly be better for me if they make some comment in the vein of "maybe we should have brought them", or having them show up regardless.

Of course they are more mature. Freaking Goku became more mature as he grew up. It's doubtful Goten and Trunks haven't matured at all.

More assumptions, that seem to go against the implication that Bulma felt they're liabilities. Bulma can always be wrong though, which would be great.

I never said that.. It was a sarcastic remark. As if Gohan wasn't going to tell them Freeza is there. The two can easily sense him. It's similar to when someone say I need a ride to school and someone response is "You don't have legs". Thought it was obvious.

No I'm not. I'm bashing Bulma choice of leaving Goten and Trunks behind. Has NOTHING to do with Ten and Roshi being day. I explained this. Earth is in danger and you leave two strong people at home? It's stupid on Bulma part. NOTHING to do with Roshi. I said it's stupid that IF(notice IF) Roshi is fighting that it's dumb of Gotenks and Bulma to not allow Gotenks to fight.

That makes more sense. The way you worded it came off in a way that seemed to imply that Bulma was aware of Roshi and Ten being there and leaving Goten and Trunks out in spite of this.
