It's basically the same thing. Just focus you energy into one specific part of your body. It just happens the sensation that is created while it's happening makes it feel as though your back is tingling.

I hope the manga covers the days leading to the TOP much better than the anime did which was a goku find everyone fest.

My hopes are (if toto stays with the original 10 members as the anime for the TOP)

1. SSJ God Ritual for Son gohan (then allow him to train and turn blue)
2. Androids 17 and Androids 18 training in the ROSAT and getting even stronger
3. Piccolo, roshi, Krilian and Tien learning Kaioken from Goku
4. Goku Vegeta and Frieza teaming up against beerus in a serious fight on his homeworld. 1 on 3.
5. Gohan (after he mastered SSJ Blue) training with the supreme kai on his planet learning his techniques and becoming a supreme kai helper so he can heal people
6. Whis giving piccolo the namek book of legends and allowing piccolo to train in his dimension to master that book and learn a new super namek form
7. Goku and Vegeta incorporating ssj2 and ssj3 into ssj blue and mastering it
8. Shen teaching everyone (Except frieza) instantaneous movement so they can never be knocked off stage and they can win easily against everyone.
9. Final part of training, everyone trains in whiz dimension learning teamwork techniques and how to function as a unit.

This list is absurd. None of these happened in the anime, so they won't happen in the manga. For now it seems like the only difference is that Vegeta was training with Beerus and Whis, and that makes sense considering Vegeta is supposed to be as strong as Goku so Toyotaro had to power him up.

I don't know why, but this made me laugh more than I should

I'm with emperior on this one, we barely had a different ending in the previous arc compared to the anime, It's very unlikely to get any of these.

I will laugh my ass off if back tingles makes it in the manga, too. That's when you'll truly know that Toriyama doesn't think much about Super Saiyan anymore.

Why? The back tingly is not random as Kendamu said it's actually martial arts related about focusing energy or concentration in one spot or something like that.

Plus it's an actual explanation for SS that has been missing for decades.

And Cabba said you did need anger, for the first time. The back tingle was for all the other times afterwards. Saiyans are not the Hulk who's 'always angry'.

Cali skipping anger was a testimony to her being a genius.

So Vegeta mastered SSJB as well? Awesome. Nice to know he can still keep up with Goku.

We've only gotten a few shots of the manga and its already put the anime to shame. I have no doubt that Toyotarou will make this an amazing arc and make up for the mess that Toei's made.

Considering Goku is getting a new form, it won't matter much that Vegeta can keep up with him. By the end of the arc, he will be far behind Goku.

I don't how else you can describe it, though. It basically storing all of energy into one specific place in body and then describing how it feel. You could perhaps say it would be like getting a chill down you spin.

Does this really count as a Broly reference? It isn't the same shot, the same looking location and Beerus isn't even doing it in the same sway as Broly.

Smashing Vegeta's head to spot forming a crater and knocking the SSJ/SSJB out of him? Smells like Broly and we're talking about Toyotaro well-known for his inability of concluding a chapter without homages.

But this isn't a homage. Toyo's past homages are usually traces with the specific poses of the scene they're homaging. This scene has barely any similarities to Vegeta getting smashed in the Broly movie. Hell, didn't the same thing happen to Trunks in the Manga Black arc?

I know what you mean, but I don't think Broly has a patent on smashing peoples face into craters. I feel like if it was supposed to be a reference to Broly the events would have played out like the scene from the movie:

I'm confused, what's at stake here? They were just sparring from what it looked like on that panels? Also Beerus suggested that Vegeta could be GoD in another universe? So he must be quite powerful than he was before.

The sparring match is before the TOP is even announced. Gok haven't even gone to Zen'o yet.

I do hope they have a throwaway line about Kale having some kind of potential. But given that Caulifla is the girl who achieves SSJ first and with ease, I think they hype will be more around her than Kale. I think Kale will remain the unexpected loose canon dark horse character as she is in the anime. Especially since nobody in Universe 6 had no idea Saiyans could transform until they saw Goku become a SSJ at the Universe 6/7 tournament.

We actually don't know how Manga FT turne SSJ. It was just implied that he could already transform. For what we know, he could have transformed the same way Gohan transformed in the RoSaT with Goku.

I wasn't talking about power levels, just seeing Vegeta fight Beerus and be there training instead of sitting around while Goku does everything like the anime.

I don't know if you or anyone else saw it but I think this is Goku's new form and it looks amazing. Although Goku is the most annoying thing in the anime, both in terms of his personality and being forced into every scene, he's one of if not the best parts of the manga and I can't wait to see what he does here.

It seems like , unlike Toei, Toyotaro actually wants Goku and Vegeta to be equals until the former gets the new form, so he is probably close to Merged Zamasu level while using Completed SSB.
