Please, for the love of god, someone gather up the dragon balls and wish this arc to be erased from existence. It's a generic idea, but we've had evil Piccolo & Vegeta, so why not Goku?.
It is a perfect storyline for the children, and it's an excuse to get another DBH or cardass out for yet another incarnation of Goku.

I can see this being quite a fleshed out Arc, though Super up to now hasn't had huge arcs spanning months worth of programming, so I'm hoping it's 10 episodes tops.
It may end up being very entertaining, lets hope Toriyama saves us from total cringe worthy fan fiction.

Though, I do have to keep reminding myself Super is aimed towards children. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

What do you mean? I thought Bardock was Toei's invention. The did the OVA and included his past in Namek arc, and then Toriyama included him in the story because he liked it.

Raditz says Goku looks exactly like his father and then in the Freeza arc there's a panel with Bardock in it.

They could have used the dragon balls there and revived him

Main problem with this is that the Dragon Balls in Future Trunks' timeline are idle, thanks to the death of Piccolo and Kami. Also, even if they were around, the Dragon Balls cannot revive someone who had died from any natural causes or illness. Goku had passed away from a heart virus, so that's out of the window.

Pure speculation at this point.

But, now that I think about it, I don't see how it would be Bardock - considering the power scale between him and the rest of the Z-Fighters (namely Goku and Vegeta) is so massive. Granted, he could have become stronger, but I doubt he could reach the level those two are at.

As far as "Evil/Black Goku" goes... meh. But I'm willing to give the concept the benefit of the doubt and see how Toriyama handles it.

"Time changing here and there" -> so if I understand that right, even that logic that was even explained by Trunks is now broken in the Trunks Saga. Sure Whis did it before, but 1. it was not the character who was directly used to explain it in the story that this cannot happen and 2. it was at least Whis, a godly being or whatever Whis is.

I 'm glad super's going in a better direction, they say Omni kign and beerus and kais get involved, hopefully that means for fighting. I wanna see a god of destruction die! That'd raise the stakes, even if you bring em back I want to see a villain not just be like frieza "oh no, somebody below beerus wants to kills goku and friends....the stakes are raised like....to my ankles.....-_-"

Which can be seen as good. Why not draw from the fans if you like the ideas they have for YOUR series?

I wanta more serious arc. I know people want super all silly, but it needs a BALANCE. Not all action, but not all silliness. Give both sides a balance. That's what made ball,z,gt so great for me. I never felt there was too much of one side going on (accept in the black star dragonb hunting arc...as well as that great saiyaman middle finger to gohan fans arc......as well as all of super so far. Let's hope this arc gives it a much needed dose of action and story!)

I do not see how time travel across different universes is lacking in originality, for all I know, not even american superheroes do that, It's either time travel, or multiversal travel not the two of them. If anything this could be the most ambitious story Toriyama has ever done, I'm just gonna wait until the actual arc starts, Toriyama's writing has been really good in the U6 Tournament arc, even when he wanted it to be "bright and simple" it was real good, and since he is now avoiding that wording I'm gonna support what he aims to do.

Mirai Trunks returning is original? Nope. His arc was concluded and concluded quite well besides fanservice i can't think of any other reason why Toriyama decided to bring him back.
Evil Gokuu or Black Gokuu is original? Nope. We had already got one Tullece. Also this idea seems to be inspired from the lame fanfics which i absolutely despise.

Not that I disagree, but I am just curious. At this point what would be original? Fanfics have been around for 20 years in regards to Dragonball and I think at this point just about everything has been done. Do you have an original idea that hasn't been put into fanfic before? I doubt there are too many left. With that said, I am also underwhelmed by an evil Goku but lets give it some time and see how it actually plays out before everyone resorts to calling it nothing but fanfic and getting turned off by it. I think it definitely has potential with Toriyama at the helm.

I just cannot imagine this being Goku from Trunks timeline who turned evil. He was dead and resurrecting him to make him evil? I mean, sure, if a villain did that who wanted to use him but other than that I think it is someone who looks like him, I think it is not even his body.

I'm honestly hoping Future Trunks is not like how he was portrayed in Xenoverse in terms of combat, ability, and usefulness.

I'd hope that since his return to his timeline, he's helped rebuild civilization, but at the same time, focused on his training in preparation for any new threat if they were to appear. With Dragon Ball Heroes showcasing SSJ3 Trunks, I wouldn't be surprised if Toriyama got some ideas from those commercials as well as some other fan works.

To be honest, with the reveal of something as cliche as Goku Black, anything is possible.
