Anime Groudon and Kyogre were depicted as more or less mindless, if I recall correctly, but I don't see why Mewtwo couldn't if they weren't.

And it's not like easily abusable one-shotting skills being overlooked is limited to Pokemon, after all.
Well Sheer Cold and Fissure are one hit ko moves in game, but I doubt they can KO literally anything in existence. I dunno I personally can't see Mewtwo just walking up to Beerus and going mindwipe or whatever.
Yeah, but we're talking about the anime, not the games.

You keep bringing up how they could just keep spamming SSJG until everybody masters it like Goku did, but that's never gonna happen. Same with Mewtwo.

I wouldn't have a problem if they came out and said that DB character's strength lets them fight off mind control, but until they do, I see no reason to treat them any differently than any other fictional universe.
They already did. Vegeta ignores Babidi's mind control spell, and Kaioshin was shocked that Babidi was able to control someone as strong as Dabra. He remarked that Babidi was more powerful than he thought. Piccolo was also shocked by Kaioshin's ability to invade his mind, despite that being a fairly basic ability that even Roshi and Goku know. All of this implies (well, shows, in Vegeta's case) that sufficient ki strength can let you no-sell mental attacks.
I've always assumed that it was indeed Vegeta's pride that let him overcome the mind control. The Hulk does the same thing with his rage in Marvel fairly often, and extreme emotions tend to have an effect on brainwashing in numerous franchises.
If that was the case, Kaioshin wouldn't be shocked by Babidi's ability to control Dabra. Actually, he probably wouldn't even be able to control Dabra in the first place. Dabra was prideful as hell.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Well for SSJ God it's cause the others aren't interested in fighting. If they were then there's no reason not to spam SSJ God. With Mewtwo I don't quite get why he can't just mindwipe his entire competition. Like when he fought Red in the recent anime, couldn't he have just mind wiped them? I know it's not the same Mewtwo as movie 1, but don't all Mewtwo's have that ability?

Well what exactly let Vegeta fight mind control? He let himself fall under Babidi's spell, but he still had control over himself. Maybe his overwhelming pride I guess.

Personally I like to see a little more from mind control as then maybe Mewtwo should mindfuck Arceus who I don't think has shown any resistance to it. We can only guess he does. Dialga has time powers, and yet they don't seem to have much of an effect on Arceus who doesn't have time powers.
The Adventure anime is a separate continuity than the main Pokemon anime, and it is based off the actual games, which is why it has stat drops from attacks like String Shot, and the gym battles display health bars.

I've always assumed that it was indeed Vegeta's pride that let him overcome the mind control. The Hulk does the same thing with his rage in Marvel fairly often, and extreme emotions tend to have an effect on brainwashing in numerous franchises.

No idea about Arceus, but Mewtwo in the anime doesn't go around picking fights after the first movie. He just wants to live in peace with his clones. It would be out of character for him to hunt down stuff to beat up.

As for your Dialga point, though, Arceus directly created him and Palkia, so I would assume it's got some kind of connection to them.
Well the anime isn't that great at displaying people, but still he was attacked by Red...so mind wipe THE END. Though if they take it all seriously I guess he can't do that there...maybe.

Yeah I knew of the Hulk too, but I thought it was cause he had multiple personalities which helped.

I know he doesn't, but he could just go mind wipe everything related to him. Nothing can be a threat if in any of those movies if he just mind wiped everyone from the beginning. I know a robot thing could hurt him and be immune, but that's about it.

I know Arceus created them, but he still doesn't have time powers nor spacial powers either. Yet he can fend off the two of them and Giratina no problem.

Yeah, but Adventures isn't the same as the regular anime. It's literally the original game portrayed in cartoon form, with an advertisement for X and Y thrown in. You can't compare the two.

That helps too, but usually it's just his rage. Sometimes excess rage brings about an alternate personality, but that's it.

Time and space powers have nothing to do with Mewtwo, though. Arceus has been shown to be able to resist those kinds of attacks. I'm going to assume it's because of some "safeguard" it utilized when it created Dialga and Palkia, or, alternatively, he's just a different order of being that isn't affected by those abstracts. None of which has anything to do with Mewtwo.

For what it's worth, though, Arceus is capable of learning Roar of Time, Spacial Rend, and whatever Giratina's special move is, in the games at least.

Mewtwo did wipe everyone who knew about him, aside from Giovanni, who he overlooked. Anime Mewtwo, after the first movie, doesn't like to fight. He just wants to be left alone.

SSJ2? GT? What? O_o

The SS multipliers in GT are ridiculously small.

Even if this was in Z... SSJ2 would be more powerful than two SSJs.

But.. Raditz won't be the most powerful ape in the group. XD
True, but nobody would be higher than 15,000. Raditz has a BP of 1,200 (equal to a Saibaman with that BP, remember?). The average low-level Saiyans have BPs from 1,200 to 1,500. Besides Bardock, the rest of his group are average low-level Saiyans. Toma is the strongest after Bardock, but that still puts him at 1,500 at most, so 15,000 in Oozaru form.
Super SaiyaJon wrote: Oh? I guess I've underestimated the crew. However, even if they were as strong as 40.000 (Great Ape Nappa) I'd still say the Ginyu Group wins.

I wouldn't say that strength is still enough to lose considering how much damage Vegeta's 30,000 did Recoom and how Goku's 60,000 stomped them with ease. In fact, I'd put them in the 35,000 to 40,000 range. I also don't think Nappa's BP was 4,000. I know the Daizenshuu says it is, but that doesn't make sense for what we see in the manga (5,000 being weaker than him, "over 8,000" not being an unbeatable opponent).
Bardock's crew was noted to be taking on missions that were for the Elites. That should be Nappa territory. What are your estimates on Burter, Recoome, and Jeice's power levels?

Yeah I said the anime isn't that great for comparison. Really neither is the movie's as Arceus doesn't seem as powerful as he's described to be.

Well he seemingly ward off really powerful telepath's too. Maybe one was a high tier.

True, I just like to see some feats to prove how far Mewtwo can go. Humans aren't as complex as some of the legendary pokemon. I'd like to see him show if he can affect them. Maybe he can maybe not, I'm not sure. There's a manga too which might have these feats for him.

That's interesting, then I guess that theory could work for him if he can learn some of their moves.

Hmmmm here's some quick rumbles:

Android 13, 14, 15, 19, and 20 VS Future Android 17 and 18 (no self-destruct)

The second match was Perfect Cell, not Imperfect Cell. I can't see past Cell, even in a brawl. Even with the press of numbers, he's got too much power for them to really do anything to him outside of the Saiyans.

Considering how smart Cell is, he'll probably outlast all of them while Broly just goes on a raging rampage and fight the other two. I assume Dabura won't spit.
