Guess I should've been more clearer. I would flip of joy!
Toriyama brought back Freeza and is bringing back Trunks so that could still happen weather it's in this arc or another one.
This arc was also suggested to Toriyama instead of him just coming up with it entirely on his own, so Bardock definitely isn't out of the realm of possibility.
Mirai Trunks, Bardock, what will be the next... Broly? What the f***

It just feels too gimmicky and cheap for a character whose arc was mostly (and wonderfully) completed, not to mention that having a more "popular" Trunks kills whatever little chance the present Trunks had at character development in favor of exploiting bishy future coolness.
Yawn. Wake me when it's over, or if I'm somehow proven wrong.
I mostly agree with you and like was pointed before by
dbzfan7 and many others, Mirai Trunks returning kinda screws up with Present Trunks/Goten development.
But what the f*** we can do? Just see and hope it is not too bad.
About Black/Evil Goku:

But yeah, if it ever happens, him retaining his cheerful persona would be good choice, as in it would the most unsettling.
That would be something menacing, scary and yet interesting to see about this Evil Goku.
