I'm not sure I'd say he regrets the Buu arc, considering that he seems to have absolutely no problem acknowledging it.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:So a lot of the the complaints were BoG was too goofy, had too many characters, all about the Saiyans etc, so Toriyama takes out 5 of the goofiest characters including TWO Saiyans (Yamcha, Goten, Trunks, Buu, Satan) and people still find room to complain?
Anyway, does anyone think this could be a hint that Toriyama is subtly regretting the Buu arc?

You overestimate them. Goten and Trunks will get brought back if they die, which isn't likely. On the other hand, millions of people are currently dead and not coming back ever due to Goku's hubris. He doesn't give a fuck.Lord Beerus wrote:This.Kamiccolo9 wrote:The last time Goten and Trunks were brought out for a big fight, they kinda died.
Having had the kids die once is more than enough reason for the adults to leave them out this time, as far as I'm concerned.
Goten and Trunks may be strong but they really aren't the most composed in battle. And I'm sure if they were to die again on the battlefield, it would lead to the Z-Fighters having a heavy conscious and incredible amount of guilt about it.
Incorrect. Goten and Trunks comment on Vegeta's ki.Marco Polo wrote:In the manga they can't sense ki.
I doubt it. He's continuing with the worst bits of it (while leaving out most of the good ones), and it's the only arc where he didn't have a tough editor, so probably the most "Toriyama" of them.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:So a lot of the the complaints were BoG was too goofy, had too many characters, all about the Saiyans etc, so Toriyama takes out 5 of the goofiest characters including TWO Saiyans (Yamcha, Goten, Trunks, Buu, Satan) and people still find room to complain?

Umm..since I'm the main room complainng of lack of Gotenks. BoG had bad humor except for Vegeta and Gotenks getting spanked. Even in Yo they had more to do than in BoG.

Goten and Trunks could be brought back if they die... just requires mourning over seeing your child/brother/friends' sons dead and a trip to Namek or an 8 month wait.. The moms won't go for that and frankly, I doubt the others want it either.RandomGuy96 wrote:You overestimate them. Goten and Trunks will get brought back if they die, which isn't likely. You're probably right, I am probably reading too much into it, but I do find it interesting that the three biggest new characters from the Buu arc are being sidelined, I certainly have no qualms about it though, I guess it is probably because they're the three goofiest characters too. And the fact Goten and Trunks are awful in the field.sintzu wrote:I think he just wants to try something different this time.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Anyway, does anyone think this could be a hint that Toriyama is subtly regretting the Buu arc?

The others can still be brought back as well.
And not sure how anything Cell did was on Goku, Cell was already there and Goku was either in training or out of comission for most all of his rampage.
EDIT: I think he also figured presenting himself, their likely target, to them and saying he wanted to fight where there were fewer people wouldn't have been taken in quite that manner. But to say that millions died there is a bit of an exaggeration.

Gero would not have been able to destroy that city if Goku didn't insist on letting the androids get created so he could have fun by fighting them.

Wouldn't have mattered either way. At least SOME of the Androids were already made, and Goku and the others attacking at that point likely would have resulted in their deaths. Heck, Gero's computer was already active and harvesting DNA for Cell.RandomGuy96 wrote:Not really. They brought the people back, but not the islands. For all the talk of how they should have attacked then, it probably would have lead to a mass grave regardless.
That being said, you really are indeed insisting that everyone there had to have appeared right there in the water and drowned. I doubt that's the case, especially given Shenron's power now being more in-line with how Porunga can do things. And still not Goku's fault, man.

You know they may actually explain some of these things in the movie...
I remember all the talk about "why is King Kai's planet back, it blew up, plot hole! plot hole!" and then they actually explained why.
A lot of you are acting like the manga is a panel for panel, word for word presentation presentation of the movie and it isn't.

1. Goten and Trunks never sensed Goku ki before. So it should be unfamiliar. Even more unfamiliar as a SSJ2. Also Vegeta was majin which perhaps gave his aura a different feel.Marco Polo wrote:Mmh, there are two possible solutions then:AvatarReiko wrote:Actually, they can.Marco Polo wrote:In the manga they can't sense ki.

2. Gohan didn't train either and he still remembers. Gohan stop training at 9-10. I'm sure Vegeta taught Trunks as soon as Trunks started basic training. Also how would they forget how to sense no after what happened with Beerus. Also in BoG they perform fusion. That is a ki senseing method.
