Has it been confirmed (or denied) the option to play 1v1?

I don't believe anything has been said about it but I wouldn't count on it. The game is a tag-team fighter and has been advertised as so. If the 3 vs 3 option was an extra instead of a feature we would know by now.

Maybe in the story/arcade mode some fight's could be 1 on 1.

It can be (well, it is) the feature and provide the option of 1v1 for arcade/multiplayer. To me, it will be the deciding factor between getting it or not.

I can't remember where or when I read it so take it with a grain of salt, but I recall this question being asked and the response being that 3v3 is integral to the game and everything was built around it.

So if you're waiting for 1v1 I wouldn't hold your breath.

I think we might get 2V1 options in the story mode, in the trailer we got one or two shots where it looks like a fight is about to start; like one where Vegeta and Piccolo are about to fight someone in a cave (Also, doesn't that imply we're getting that cave as a stage?)

I can't say I'm a fan of tag-team fighting games, but as long as they're not crossovers (Capcom vs SNK / Marvel vs Capcom), I'm okay with it. It's the crossover fighting games that I dislike, mainly because artstyle-wise they make no sense sometimes (i.e. Viewtiful Joe when compared to everyone).

This is not an appropriate way to have a conversation (here on Kanzenshuu, or quite frankly, anywhere else for that matter).

As someone intimately familiar with Bandai Namco's quarterly financial reports, I can assure you that nothing you've linked here in the Q1 & Q3 Fiscal 2017 reports has anything to do what-so-ever with, nevermind calls out specifically, GT's relevance to today's younger generation and older fans' enjoyment of Z in opposition of Super, which is the point you specifically bolded when "answering" this question.

If you want to speak to GT's inclusion in and essentially serving as the entire basis for the "Galaxy Mission" update series in Dragon Ball Heroes, you could certainly do so; however, that was 2012-2013 at its height. You could speak to the evil dragons arc appearing in Saikyo Jump ever since then, but there really isn't much to say about that; the only judgement call you could really make with regard to any DB-specific spin-off manga in that magazine was the cancellation of the Discross manga alongside its arcade discontinuation. You could speak to Bandai Namco producer comments about GT being surprisingly more popular in the west than they thought with regard to playable character inclusions, but that too was two console generations ago.

Please try to keep things on-topic with well-written, well-researched posts about the actual subject matter at hand.

This doesn't prove anything in regards to people not caring about GT.

On that note, the Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta banners were the most anticipated banners on Dokkan Battle. Along with SSJ4 Gogeta and Omega Shenron.

Regarding GT content in this game when compared to others.
The key difference is that this game is forced to have limited content(characters), Dokkan and Heroes don't have that problem, in these games having GT content is a inevitability, others like Fusions and Xenoverse 2 have something like 60+ characters, having GT big boys with such a wide cast is obvious.

In this game every character has to be hand picked, just look at #17, when was the last time he had such a secondary role? In these circumstances what will Arc Systems and Bandai do? Obviously supporting Super is the smart choice. Have to pick between Hit and Omega Shenron? Hit will be winner and there won't even be a debate.

Which is why I'm willing to be there won't be a single GT character in this game. Unless they surprise us and give us 40+ characters, in such a scenario Omega Shenron would likely make it in.

I think GT characters would make good DLC. Like SSj4 Goku, SSj4 Vegeta and Super Yi Xing Long for a future DLC pack.

I like ASW adding Sorbet as an special attack.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

Speaking of assist characters - It'd be cool if Captain Ginyu (assuming he'll be playable) came with four of them. Recoom can grab people, Gurd can counter and/or stun people, Jheese can come in for a Crusher Ball super, Butta can... speedblitz the opponent? Add in some Body Change, Purple Comet, Recoom Ultra Fighting Bomber, and especially a victory screen showing the entire squad, and you've got a pretty entertaining fighter!

Also Muten Roshi and little Goku (tail, Nyoi-bô, backwards Kamehameha) plz. But I shouldn't beg; they already gave me the Tenshinhan I wished for.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.

Not a one hit kill, not faithful. 0/10 will not buy.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Well, it didn't actually killed Goku...

Talking about that I wonder if they will give Beerus the Hakai move in the game, and if yes how it will work...
(Yes, Beerus is not confirmed, but I'd be really suprised if he is not actually makes it into the roster.)

Since we won't be getting any reveals or news for a while, enjoy these great matches.

This game cannot come soon enough. I do hope the next reveals will be Buu saga centric (Gotenks, Vegetto, Mystic Gohan, Dabura, Super buu and kid buu).

It’s going to come down to movie characters. If a single movie character like Broly makes it into the game then SSJ4 will certainly be in it.

Also what Super exclusive content is there in this game at this point?

This isn't about just crossing a line - movies/GT - the worth of the characters in question and their marketability are the key factors.

Broly has a sizeable fan-base, he adds a rare archetype(grappler) to this type of game, there's a lot of upside by his inclusion.
I would be shocked if there was any widespread complaints if he's added, while SSJ4 would be met with the same complaints the SSJ Blue versions received.
While both don't matter much for the marketability part(maybe Broly with Kale), there's a clear difference in their potential.

SSJ4 is adding a third version of either Goku or Vegeta, no matter how hard they try to make them different you are making 20% of your roster the same bloody character.
This would definitely hurt the game.

Super content in the game are Freeza transforming into Golden Freeza and the Blue Saiyans. It's a lot taking into account the current roster, 25% of the current roster is Goku and Vegeta. We are just adding the core and obvious character, yet they went out of their way to introduce clones so soon. Bandai probably demanded it.
