Thats something the anime said, by the looks of it, I don't think it's carrying over into the manga.

For now we know jackshit cuz the scene wasn't shown.

For reference, I think his still in the same ballpark as the other GoDs, his just faster as in the leak his not been shown beating them in a straight fight, rather his merely evading them.

Frieza's reasoning is completely different from the others. Freeza is actually a prodigy. He has never trained a day in his life and he was already extremely powerful. Just think about it, a powerful being actually training for once, for four straight months.

The Freeza incidence bugs me as its implying that anyone born naturally strong has massive potential, yet Vegeta and Piccolo (Before he split) were all born massively stronger than Goku was, yet neither one of them are several tiers above Goku himself when they all train. Freeza's achievements are diminiushed by the fact Tagoma went from Dodoria tier to above Cell Games SSJ Vegeta and SSJ Trunks tier in four months as well which makes me wonder would Jeice, Ginyu, and Recoome for instance be even stronger than that if they simply trained? If so then 17 should be stronger than the Gods of Destruction since technically speaking he was genetically modified to be naturally stronger than a SSJ (Pre-Room of Spirit and Time training), so going by the Freeza logic he should he should be above the angel for training for years since either the end of the Cell saga or the end of the Buu saga.

Apparently it's now an ass pull when a Saiyan gets really angry and accesses new high levels of power.

Because this never happened when Goku got angry and turned into a Super Saiyan. It never happened when Vegeta got angry and surpassed Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Ultimate Gohan with just his Super Saiyan 2. It never happened over and over again with Gohan nor did he tap into a completely new transformation either upon getting angry.

No this only ever happened with Trunks.

To be fair, the only person who got stronger from anger in general was Gohan which stopped after the Cell Games. Goku unlocked SSJ for the first time, he never got stronger while angry as a SSJ though, neither did Vegeta, or Trunks, or anyone else not named Gohan for that matter. Vegeta's incidence in BoGs is anomaly that came and left just as quickly as it was introduced with little to no explanation why it happened until now. Gohan unlocking SSJ2 for the first time through rage is also a one time deal, the thing Trunks pulled in the anime was simply bizarre and happened just for the hell of it. I'm not really complaining as it lead to some badass and good moments, but BS is still BS in my opinion.

No one dies in this series and not brought back outside of a few side-characters. So I am not sure why fans still pretend the main cast is ever in real danger.

Future Trunks' actual mother was killed (in front of his eyes in the anime, and off-camera in the manga), and her entire world/timeline is gone as far as we know right now. Sure, the future version of Bulma isn't a "main character", but her impact on one of the main characters (Trunks) was significant, and I definitely felt for him. Alternate timeline versions of Bulma are a consolation prize, but never a true replacement for what's in his heart.

Also, can we please steer away from the "I dunno man we must be watching different shows lulululz!" retorts? That's not conversation; that's being a jerk, and that's not welcome here.

As you yourself mentioned this is an alternate reality which has zero impact or effect on the main universe, literally a throw away universe. As for Trunks, his feelings is all void considering he's literally returning to the exact same timeline, just before Zamasu pulled his stunt, just with an extra pair of Mai and Trunks so status quota equals god I suppose.

Were you expecting anything else ? you can really tell Toyotarou is doing his absolute best to make this as genuine of a continuation to the original as possible and I'm more than happy with the result. I just wish the anime turned out this good.

Well, I don't think the tournament rules are going to be different. But they are already showing different paths, so we should expect to be its own thing too.

Sweet it is a lot different than anime.Just like I thought beerus is one of strongest hakaishins if not the strongest.I will further comment after reading the chapter.Now,the only thing I am looking forward to in manga is build up of other universes and more characters with abilities like darcori and obuni.
