Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

I'm near-convinced the update has to be in next month's November VJump, because December's VJump's release date is one day before Jump Festa and that's not enough time to build up hype.

The plot info we have now just isn't enough yet to form an idea of what the movie's about. All I know about it is:
-Toriyama wrote it
-Torishima likes it
-Yamamuro is directing
-it takes place after BOG
-someone is wished back
-this wished back person(s) brings about despair
-there will be more action scenes

And that's it. Still less than what we knew of BOG at this point. T_T

I think what is fairly certain is that if a magazine is going to be carrying information on this, we're going to know about it before it hits the shelves - it'll be front page stuff, a selling point.

Toriyama Akira is credited with 原作・脚本・キャラクターデザイン (Original Author, Screenplay, and Character Design). I doubt he's actually doing the final screenplay and character designs himself, though. Yamamuro Tadayoshi is still credited as 監督. In essence, we still don't know anything new.

Character designs? Maybe - he has a precedent for getting pretty hands on with stuff like that - even if it's just doodles for the art staff to work with.

But I agree about the screenplay, I'd be very surprised if he wrote the final thing, as it will almost certainly pass into the hands of a more experienced writer at least for editing.

If we go by the earliest Battle of Gods teaser material, it's probably totally insignificant.

I clicked the little icon to take me to the newest post, but I somehow ended up in the middle of the first page instead (and logged out). I started to freak out there for a minute with people talking about yet another movie being announced early. It wasn't until a couple of posts down where I saw 2015 being mentioned that I regained my senses. xD

It's been on the Toei site for some time now. And the SP thing is just a smaller version of the main page.

Toriyama's rough designs will not be the final designs used for the movie. Yamamuro or someone else will re-design them in their own style so that they have something the key animators can draw quicker and something that can be corrected easier.

Toriyama was adamant about that being the design to use. It's not that the actual designs are changed, just sometimes altered to the current anime style or having some details dumbed down to save time. He drew the designs, but they were still all redrawn as settei (設定) by Yamamuro.

Si. Just character designs to be used as references. It's not DB, but they traditionally look like this (though can be in color). Sometimes, when polished, they are used as stock art for promotion as well.
