That's how I always interpreted it -- Pilaf's so laughably ineffective at being a villain that you almost have to cut him a little slack. It's like you want to just pinch those little cheeks of his and tell him everything's going to be OK.

Is it really that difficult to not consider Pilaf evil, enough to were he needed to be left out of the revival wish? I'm assuming you weren't a huge fan of early dragon ball or else it wouldn't be this big of a deal.

I was just mistaken on the wish - I thought it was good people only.

The wish was to bring back everyone except the "extremely evil" people. So Pilaf could have still made the cut despite being evil, so long as Shenlong didn't consider him extremely evil.

You guys might want to fix that if the Kanzentai translations of Daiz 4 ever get ported over then, because it just says "bad" in the wish advents.

Perhaps Shenlong's definition of evil is different from ours. Maybe just being a crook or a goon doesn't classify but a murderer or rapist does.

17 is, at the very least, a carjacker. Lunch is an armed robber about half the time. That loser that Vegeta punched out at the end of the series... well he was a jackass and I'll just assume he was giving people swirlies back when the Buu arc was going on. All of these people were revived. I'm pretty sure Shenlong's standards aren't so Old Testament.

I can already feel that this Movie is really for the existing fans. The fact that Pilaf will make an appearance is like a shout out to everyone who truly loves and follows the series. Something like this is much better than a cliche "Eradicate the Saiyans" reappearance of Freeza or something.

The Jump Tour 08 vibe I got from the Cell arc outfit they chose for Vegeta was my first inkling that this was heading in that direction, only with more action/stuff at stake. I mean, one of those "secret" figures has to be a strong bad guy if ssj3 Goku is listed there. Also, the fact that Vegeta is listed as one of the other spotlight figures makes me hope Goku's shenanigans concerning Vegeta from the Jump Tour special do indeed continue into this movie.

They do look a bit strange to me too, especially Vegeta, but it might just be because of the low quality of the picture and the fact that they are SD.

As for Pilaf and evilness: I always thought of him as someone who tries to be evil. He is too much of a gag character to be considered a serious threat.


Personally, I'm not sure how to feel about him appearing in the movie. If it's just a cameo for the sake of nostalgia then that's okay, but I don't know if he and his gang should get a bigger role. I am not a huge fan of these characters and that type of humour.

There was only good people on Earth after Buu. All evil humans stayed dead. No wonder why they had 10 years of peace afterwards.

Also, I like the idea of Pilaf and the gang making an appearance in the movie. I'm guessing he's going to be the reason for something bigger happening ala King Piccolo or the Black Star Dragonballs.

Sure, Goku and Vegeta don't look exactly like their counterparts either, but the differences appear to be fairly minimal in comparison to Pilaf and the gang, with Pilaf himself being the most drastic. Maybe it's not even Pilaf, but a relative like we got in DBO. Or perhaps it is Pilaf and there will be an explanation for the changes in the movie. Heck, for all we know, someone could have just goofed up during production on the figure prototypes and they didn't have time to fix them before the images were taken. None of us outside those involved with the film and its merchandise know anything right now, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm not trying to jump to any conclusions here and present them as facts or anything. Personally, I'm just making notes of things I see. We have practically no information on the movie, so it's just a time waster to speculate over the few tidbits we do have until something meatier comes along.

If it happens to be real, I guess Gods themselves have something to settle with the heroes!
But let's wait for confirmation, it's easy to be misled by fake pictures nowadays... People have just become really good at making convincing fakes, so I'll wait for now.

The Majin Boo appearing seems to be exactly the HD render that was made for the Character Project, including the "head tail" direction... Hum...
