Heh, I don't think that will be the good news, though. It's probably more likely to be something smaller, like the use of a term the dub hasn't used before, or the recasting of a smaller role.

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Same here. Besides, we've already heard Linda Young's Freeza in the first Nicktoons Kai clip.

A Linda Young recast would make me cum buckets, and purchase Kai Blu-Rays.
Sorry for the needless graphic content of this post.

I'm not sure how far into the series the first 13 episodes go, though. At least up to Vegeta, I'm guessing, so maybe Sean changed up his King Kai voice?

<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

It goes up to the first part of Goku vs. Vegeta just before Goku uses Kaiouken x 3.

If they do change up Kaiou's voice I'll be very happy! I heard that Sean is doing Nail's voice a little more like Sabat does Piccolo this time around, but I don't think that's the thing we're all gonna throw parties over.

Maybe it's the use of the term Ki or "Chi." If they do use it, I just hope they're consistent with it, unlike the Blue Water GT dub which used "Ki," "Chi," "Spiritual Energy," and "Essence," lol.

Yeah, from his facebook fanclub page (He doesn't accept friend requests, and only talks to fans through this):

I'm not a member of facebook at all, so once a comment reaches 20 or so responses, I can't read anymore.

Or at least a less annoying take.

I wonder what that would do to DBZ Abridged...

Unless it suddently transforms into "DBK Abridged," I can't see it mattering.

I think it might be bigger than that. It seems that one other person knows and it's being treated like huge news.

Maybe they're making two separate dubs; one for the Nicktoons edited with classic voices, and an uncut dub with an all new cast.

I know you're joking, but I'm going to ruin the fun by saying it was Young in the uncut version shown at Sakura-Con.

All I'll say is one of those said changes is something everyone on this forum will veeery much enjoy.
They've decided to recast Freeza after all?
No, that's just what you'll enjoy. I think they're going to use Kaioh.

I'd actually love that. It only makes sense since they use "Kaio-ken".

Do you think they might start pronouncing Saiyan properly?

Been confirmed they're not in the videos, now gone from youtube.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
