During moments where we're trying to play heavy to the original scene (only to muck it up/insert some laughs) we'll use the original music to help really nail home the feel. Like when Piccolo and Kuririn were fighting Nappa and during the Kamehameha VS. Galick Gun.
So you can expect more of the Japanese music, mostly during the bigger, more dramatic moments of the show.

I find the song catchy and enjoyable, especially since it was my first exposure to DBZ, but the only way that would happen is as a joke. xDSSJ2bardock wrote:My vote goes for Rock the Dragon...

Ah, good, good. I was meaning to go and check if that BGM was used in the original because it really did fit the action in that scene (the Multi-form scene, I mean).KaiserNeko wrote:During moments where we're trying to play heavy to the original scene (only to muck it up/insert some laughs) we'll use the original music to help really nail home the feel. Wait, you're a dub fan though correct? Boy not liking a score for a series that lasts 290 episodes must have been rough.KaiserNeko wrote:Sorry, man. I grew up with the Japanese music. Now, I have to vote one thing here, and this is probably gonna enflame everybody, but, me being me, I have to say it.
Can you give us dub fans a bone here, and use the Faulconer opening, at least once? I was planning on emailing you guys about this, but, well, here you went and asked. That would be great. I mean, I love the voices and all, but I'd like at least a little dub music here and there. I mean, you used the Japanese music in the Kamehameha vs. Galick Gun scene right? How about vice-versa?
In the event that you guys don't, let's see...
Well, the next best thing for me would be Dragon Soul, I suppose. It's one of the few Japanese songs I like. A change in visuals would be very nice as well.
My friend broke my PSP just in time for Naruto Ultimate Ninja 5 to come out....WHOOOO!

Nope! Not a dub fan. The reason we parody the American voices is because they're the more widely received. I actually am the opposite of a fan of the dub, I despise a lot of things about it. The script changes, the inappropriate voices, the music changes, the character changes...Freeza.exe wrote:Wait, you're a dub fan though correct? But you're right, it was pretty rough. That score grated on me through every single episode that I watched, and I did watch the entire dub. ^.^;

Did you watch the dub specifically for Abridged? If not what was you reasoning behind it?

Well, I was one of those fans who grew up buying all the DVDs, watching the show on CN, and trying to find out as much as I could about the show. I was watching the show in Japanese on the internet before the DVDs, but I was limited in my ability to actually acquire the whole series. Thus, I watched the entire Toonami run and was even buying the tapes at first!Freeza.exe wrote:Oh whoops, sorry about that.KaiserNeko wrote:

I'll second Kaiser. There is a generation of us who got into the show around the time it initially saw US exposure, were exposed to the real deal, yet were limited in our ability to acquire the whole show. Having it air on TV every afternoon when CN picked it up was a very convenient way to see the whole series, even if the audio hurt the ears. Kunzait, actually, was able to follow the series on the International Channel, where they played it in raw Japanese. I would sometimes mute the dub. Either way, we were "seeing" the episodes, just to get our fix until proper DVD releases caught up.Freeza.exe wrote:Did you watch the dub specifically for Abridged? To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Did anyone archive Kei's English version of Cha-La with the original backing? That would be a great one to use IMO.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I just got an offer like that as well. It would be funny if you accepted it.

Yes! :>
I wonder exactly how that would play out, though.
