I'm so happy they stepped up with the promo art. This looks so much higher quality than the Uni 6 promo art.

Hopefully it's not false advertising like the U6 one.

I was so disappointed by Uni 6 on the whole. I like battles, but I want some thicker plot to go along with it other than "Beerus and Champa have sibling rivalry".
I really hope this Future Trunks arc has the thicker plot that it looks like it may have.

Whenever a time traveler arrived in the principal timeline, this has muted its original course. My theory is: the landing of Trunks will cause slippage of the story from the finale of the manga. It would be a good justification.

Yes, definitely. There's so many degrees of shading. The U6 promo looked more like simple manga art while this looks like a movie promo. Maybe it will be a movie too?

Well, I am happy that is Goku, even if it an alternative version of him. I was hoping it wasn't Time Breaker Bardock. Black is Goku is also different from Turllus and Raditz since those two, along with almost every other major villain in Dragon Ball, were just evil counterparts to Goku, not Goku himself. It should make for some interesting character interaction.

I also don't think Black Goku is Goku if he didn't hit his head. If he was, he would be called Kakarot.

It doesn't make sense, "Goku" is used because it's way more popular and for marketing's sake. Goku and Kakarot is the same person, whether hit his head or not.

I wanted "Goku Black" to be a red herring. If there was any time that I wanted Toriyama to pull a classic swerve on me, it would have been in that regard. I'll see how it plays out as you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but I'm not really intrigued with what I'm seeing so far. If this ends up being a great arc, then Toriyama really would have pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

May be Goku Black is just a stong opponent that happens to have shape-shifting powers that for some random reason decided to look like Goku.

After this mini arc I doubt it's a shapeshifter. Maybe a Makaioshin takes control of a different Goku? Would explain the earring

Well it seems my insane wish of Goku Black being Time Breaker Bardock didn't come true.

But, oh my. I'm actually kinda pleased with this design... It could've been worse, like some pitch-black Goku that I've seen in some fan-arts. And hey, the Green Potaras give him a more ominous feel.

I've always wanted Turles to be used better than just a movie character, and I'm so glad a similar concept is actually being used to the actual series. (If it really is some Evil Goku, although it seems kind of obvious by now.)

I'm with you, there has to be some kind of fake out. Something that makes it not just Evil Goku. No way they play possibly the most fanfiction trope care of all straight. There has to be something else. Like he's a shape shifter or something. Otherwise I don't know how I can take this seriously....unless it turns out somehow really good.

Also pretty sure Mai is supposed to be a lot older. Seriously what is up with the fetish to pair Trunks with the elderly? Mai is older than his mom is. It's basically the weird Padme/Anakin thing all over again, without the cringe dialogue.

No amount of time can sell me on Anakin/Padme, Dragon Ball edition. "Hi Mom I'm dating folks who are older than you are for some reason. I really like hot moms I guess. We have no reason to like each other beyond that it's quirky. I think I have a boner for Baba too."
