Is there anything really left for Goku? He's already arguably Dragon Ball's most developed character, any further and we're returning back to the beginning to force some development into him. I already got worried about Whis talking about Goku's overconfidence, even though Popo's training was about the same thing. If Goku spares Freeza in this movie, it will show regression in his character, not progression.

He's becoming even more callous and cold hearted. In the Buu Saga he was like "lol w/e man we can wish those dead people back," in the Beers movie he let everyone get pummeled so he could see them fight.

I wouldn't class any of them, besides Turles, as Goku knock off. They're more like "What could have been" version of Goku. Like, what if Goku retained his naturally evil, aggressive, primal, blood thirsty nature.

Vegeta is like a twisted mirror image of Goku.
Broly (and Freeza) is the anti-Goku.

We don't really know how Toriyama would have handled everything and what changes he might make if he were in his prime and drawing it himself during the serialization.

I thin he would have left the fighting scenes for the Anime the way he did with the Buu arc.

They're Saiyans just like them. Goku can't be a Prince like Vegeta who was Freeza's bitch. He wouldn't be the LSSJ psycho because Kakarot cried. They're NOT "what could have been" if Goku haven't hurt his head. That's like saying Moori is a what could have been for Piccolo.
