Too bad we won't be getting Dragon Box 5 until early 2011 according to Funimation's Twitter account.

FUNimation and I are gonna have... words... if they start waiting that long in between Dragon Box releases. :x

Damn, do they really have to stretch it out that long? I mean, they already have the footage, what could the hold up possibly be?

Damn! I was hoping for maybe a November release even at best. I am guessing Dragon Box 5 will come out now in January 2011. I assume this means then three sets a year and the last Dragon Box will come out in September 2011.

Well even though this news is upsetting it does make sense but it still sucks we have to wait four months (if my prediction is correct) to see the Cell Games.

What if Dragonbox Vol.5 has the most extras and stuff? What if FUNimation is thinking about putting the Playdia OVA and the other TV Specials in that one Volume?

2011? What a load of bullshit. Why would they not release one during the holiday season? I thought the intention was to get these out every 2-3 months.

Can't believe I'm going to be collecting these fucking sets past my 25th birthday.

The reason why FUNi want to release it on January, probably because of money!

They might be trying to release them alongside the Kai sets for some reason. That's my only guess.

That, or maybe the sets are doing well and they're dragging it out so that they have more time to prepare another DBox (such as the Movies).

Also... This isn't 4chan, kids.

Lets hope to God that your right. If the "Dragonbox: The Movies" is announced at Otakon or something I will be so happy, and if not any other Dragonbox will do fine. :)

I don't know why people are getting upset about the "early 2011" release date. It was obvious that volume five wouldn't be out till four months past volume four's release date; what with there being four months in between every Dragon Box Z release and all.

I'm not really complaining, I'm just getting nervous and excited. With the late releases of the Dragonbox Z Sets, I get the feeling another Dragonbox is going to be announced or something.

For some reason I was thinking there was only three months between releases. I've never really started buying Dragonball DVDs from FUNimation on a regular basis until the Dragonbox.

For the past few years, it's been more like Funimation has Dragon Ball release months. Dragon Ball Season 5 having released this month is a bit off from the way they generally do it, but since the Dragon Ball Z Season Sets started releasing, the Dragon Ball months were generally as follows:

2007
February (DBZ 1)
May (DBZ 2)
September (DBZ 3)

2008
February (DBZ 4)
May (DBZ 5)
September (DBZ 6)
November (DBZ 7, DBGT 1)

2009
February (DBZ 8, DBGT 2)
May (DBZ 9)
September (DB 1)
November (DB 2, DBox 1)

2010
February (DB 3, DBox 2)
May (DB 4, DBox 3, DB Kai 1)
July (DB 5)
September (DBox 4, DB Kai 2)

Based on this schedule and the precedent set by 2008-09, I would expect to see DB Kai 3 out in November, even if DBox 5 gets pushed to February of next year.

It was only three months between releases. (November to February, and February to May.) Dragon Box 4 is the first one that's coming four months after its predecessor.

As much as I hate hearing we won't be getting DragonBox 5 til Feb. It works out for me since I only have DBox 2. I can get DBox 3 in Aug. Then Dbox 1 in Sept then Dbox 4 in Oct. Then I will be caught up on my Dboxes....

I'm realize something, the original Dragon Box Z 1 does not include the credit less version of the first 2 Chala-Head-Chala Openings! so Dragon Box Z 4 probably also does not included the credit less version of those 2 openings!

I'm assuming that it's the same thing that's on the Japanese DBox. If not, I actually prefer the OP animation for the part of the series that DBox 4 covers, anyway.

They are probably taking more time in order to release the Movie Dragon Box.

I really hope they announce a Dragonball Dragon Box, I'm so anxious to see it since I've never seen it before, but I've been spoiled by the Dragon Box quality and can't accept anything less. :P
