I got these Chopperman straps earlier this week (at Kinokuniya in Little Tokyo LA), as with the Ga-chan (Neo Super Happy Land or something like that in Chinatown. The Dragon pen was a couple weeks or so ago from Power Anime in West LA.

The Japanese 2008 calendar. It’s a cool little token which features all-new artwork so I couldn’t resist getting it even though I hardly use physical calendars anymore. Because each page spans two months, I have to keep remembering to change it, which I hate because it’s tear-off and I’m always afraid of ripping past the perforations (happened a couple times, but nothing major). It’s too bad the year’s almost over though… :(. But at least I get to use them as general-purpose posters now. :)

Does anyone here use http://benippon.com/ ? I've never heard of it. Can I trust them?
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

My latest was DBZ Season 4 and the Trunks/Bardock Double Feature. Here's my plans for the future:

10/30/08 - DBZ Season 5 and DBZ Movies 1 & 2 Double Feature.

11/13/08 - DBZ Season 6, DBZ Movies 3 & 4 Double Feature, and Infinite World.

11/27/08 - DBZ Season 7, DBZ Movies 5 & 6 Double Feature, and Dragonball DS

Assuming that nothing else very interesting is coming out in my part of the world for a few months, I'm looking into:

* Japanese PS2
* Dragonball DBox Singles 5 (Goku vs. Jackie Chun), 16 (Goku vs. Kuririn), 24 (Goku vs. Ma Jr.), and 25 (Goku vs. Ma Jr.)
* Dragonball Z DBox Singles 5 (Goku vs. Nappa), 11 (Goku vs. Recoome), 32 (Gohan turns SSj2), and 45 (Chou Gohan vs. Buu)
* DBZ BGM Collection CD Box
* Power Live 98
* Super DBZ (Japanese Version)

The exact order and time that I get those, though, is really up in the air and depends on when less expensive releases closer to home come out.

If you're willing to try using something like Magicswap on your American PS2 (if you have one) The PAL version is a good alternative as it has the Japanese voice cast with the menus in English, it also has a 60hz option.

I'd do it, but I need the Japanese PS2 for DBZ Legends and for the DBox singles as well.

You can use swap magic for both of those. I bought one for about $40, and the best $40 I ever spent!

My last purchase would technically be Season Six, along with the Tree of Might/Lord Slug "Remastered" releases. Aside from the Season Sets, I'd say that my last worthwhile purchase was getting both the Saiyan and Namek Saga, which came with the Ocean dubbed Tree of Might movie. For $30, getting all of that was a great deal. It got even better when it arrived and even though it was used (good luck finding it new), you open the case and there's not one scratch, not one spin mark, not a spot on those DVDs. They even smelled brand new. I love people who take their DVDs and watch them like once, and put them away neatly. lol I got my Frieza Saga the same way.

The only complaint I have is the Tree of Might movie. The Ocean dubbed version is not what I was used to. I remember watching it on Cartoon Network, with the American music from the series, along with Ian James Corlett doing the voice of Goku. I loved his version of Goku, and aside from Sean Schemmel (who I guess I'm used to...and don't want to admit that he's got some terrible voicing moments), I'd say he was my favorite voice actor for Goku. Well, apparently, that Tree of Might never got released. So I had one with Japanese music and with Peter Kelamis. I mean, maybe it would've been good at the time, but if I wanted to see an uncut version of the movie that stayed true to the original, I had the newer Tree of Might release...more particularly with the Japanese audio track. Sorry, but buying the Ocean dubbed versions, I expected to get crappy, horrible editing, with some bizarre lines that come out of left field sometimes. The whole point was to take me back to my childhood, and I've never even seen this version of Tree of Might. How ironic that the Ocean dubbed Tree of Might was more true and loyal to the original than the "Ultimate Uncut" version. Oh well, that's life. To this day, I want my damn Tree of Might with Ian James Corlett. I remember him doing that line, where he says, "You planted this tree on our land? Well it's gotta go!" And that was like the coolest voice for Goku ever.

Do you think that it's worth it to get the "Vegeta Saga" DVD 10 in Spanish? I know, it's like...ridiculous because that's all it's in, and it's rated for ages 7+, so God only knows if it's censored or not, but... Damn it, I want the rest of that damn "Vegeta Saga"! Even though I don't speak Spanish... I do have two DVD players in my living room (one came with 5.1 surround sound, the other is one that plays DVD/VHS and converts one to the other). So I can pop the Season Set DVD into one of them, switch the 5.1 to pick up the audio from that one, and put the Spanish DVD in the other and mute it. So I'd have the footage from that DVD with the audio from the Season Set. That's what I do with my 4:3 DVDs and the Season Sets so I can watch it full screen with the English dub/Japanese music. Anyway, do you guys think it's worth it? And for that matter, do you think they'll keep releasing them? I mean...they just released Volume 10 at the same time as Season Six... And those started in like 2005.

Oh wow.Well I'm sure there are others here like me who haven't bought thing for dragonball in probably quite a few years, not counting video games. But yeah, I can't even recall the last dragonball merchandise i bought. haha.

However strangerly enough my eight year old brother is in love with the series. Despite no one else in his class knowing what the hell it is. So I get to see what new stuff they make and I gotta say, that I'm kinda mad the figures being made now werent out when I used to play with them hahah

Oh man, I used to go there so much... back when they had the location on the second floor! Now it's just narutard memorabilia and bootlegs.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
