I hope characters have special talks before the fights. I always like how Budoka 1 & 3 and the other games did that. It would be cool if every character had their own special intro.

So much truth in this post.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:I'm not surprised by the type of audience this guy has. These rumors become self-confirmed the more it spread upon and then when they turn out to not be true, all the fans start whining and moaning about things that didn't exist in the first place.
judging by the gameplay videos we have so far, matches are starting in an instant so... But they've said that characters will talk each other during fights like Raging Blast.Hellspawn28 wrote:I hope characters have special talks before the fights. Maybe a Dragon Ball game as it's been the norm with Nintendo getting Dragon Ball rather than Z, it'd be awesome if they did one and this time in HD! Don't keep your hopes up though.SSJ3_Zack wrote:Do you guys think that the Wii U will ever get a DragonBall game?
It's not new, it's been out since 2012.Avenged wrote:Portable? LOL NO. The Wii U is a brand new CONSOLE for Nintendo. They have portable devices such as the 2 AND 3ds.
The sales' figures proved that the Wii U wouldn't improve the sales but for its Nintendo fans they're giving us what we want and considering Nintendo is in a gaming world of its own than competing against PlayStation/Xbox they don't really worry, plus 3DS sales are a blast for them.Zenkashuu wrote:The "rumors" were real. lol
Can't wait for Smash 4 and the Amiibos.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

Even better. I'm kinda sick of Z getting the spotlight in the video games; they could maybe make a DragonBall adventure game. My wallet cried the moment I laid eyes upon those Amiibo figures lol; I'm curious to see how they'll be implemented in Mario Kart 8. Also I can't wait for Bayonetta 2, it's gonna be awesome.dbboxkaifan wrote:Maybe a Dragon Ball game as it's been the norm with Nintendo getting Dragon Ball rather than Z, it'd be awesome if they did one and this time in HD! even the developers don't know how many characters they will make yet, those "ball pages" are just an idea, it could be costumes or pages of characters, we don't know yet, it's simple

The norm? You mean the norm of every two out of three games being Z, like with the Wii? Even on the DS, you were looking at two Dragon Ball games to four Z games.dbboxkaifan wrote:Maybe a Dragon Ball game as it's been the norm with Nintendo getting Dragon Ball rather than Z, it'd be awesome if they did one and this time in HD! Not having watched it yet, it sounds a lot like character creation. Honestly, I only hope it is because of how generic the Future Warrior looks otherwise.CM101Play wrote:"In this game, the user actually plays his "Dragon Ball" self..."

They confirmed ki charging as well!
Also:
They confirmed that there would indeed be more than just 1v1, but they can't specify how far it'll go.
They confirmed that the story mode isn't an Open World like B3.
They confirmed that there would be more than just DBZ characters on the roster, but could not specify on the number nor the series.
They confirmed that the game would have a "robust" roster.

Ha! Confirmation that the Dragon Balls aren't character pages. They they just scroll to the right and a column disappear on the screen to the left and a new ones appear to replace it on the right. So far, we're probably at around 30 characters including the 9 new boxes that include Cell and Freeza.

They said that the game has been in development for 2 years and 6 months...
IF that's true, the only way the game is still in Alpha is they've spent most of that time plotting the story, designing new characters, AND modeling a large roster.

To be fair Assassin Creed games tend to have about the same length of development. Look how AC3 turnt out. Well it was sorta boring. AC4 was a big step up though.CM101Play wrote:They said that the game has been in development for 2 years and 6 months...

Yeah, but you've got to think if it's really been in development for that long and it's only in Alpha now, they've been working on other stuff in that time.TheGmGoken wrote:To be fair Assassin Creed games tend to have about the same length of development. No open world.
Multi-Character battles. Better not be more than 2v2.
Huge Roster priority....
Dimps said this? Sounds like Spike to me.

But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

Other than no open world, how is your hype dying from that? Personally, it's making my hype go up!SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:So far hype is dying.CM101Play wrote:They confirmed ki charging as well!

When it comes to my mind thinking of Dragon Ball games for Nintendo platforms I usually think of Dragon Ball rather than another Z game.Rukura wrote:The norm? Dragon Ball
GBA - Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure
DS - Dragon Ball: Origins I
DS - Dragon Ball: Origins II
Wii - Dragon Ball: Revenge of Piccolo Daimao
Dragon Ball Z
NGC - Dragon Ball Z: Budokai I
NGC - Dragon Ball Z: Budokai II
Wii - Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi II
Wii - Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi III
GBA - Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu
GBA - Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors
GBA - Dragon Ball Z: Boo's Fury
GBA - Dragon Ball Z: Legacy of Goku
GBA - Dragon Ball Z: Collectible Card Game
DS - Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans
DS - Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors II
Dragon Ball GT
GBA - Dragon Ball GT: Transformation
Dragon Ball GT deserved a much better game and Bandai Namco has never given a toss about it, the most they've done was add 2-3 characters of it with a wall of text about GT and then call it a day.
The game does seem like something that Spike would come up with. Very un-Dimps.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:So far hype is dying.

Kind of the default feeling when nothing you hope for is confirmed yet or disconfirmed on implication. Even the Namco Moderator said so far the gameplay didnt at all wow him and fears this will be another Sint Seiya trainwreck. That isnt a fact at all yet but if gameplay isnt a priority and if they're taking the Spike root where they just tease us with roster distractions than I don't know what to hope for yet. Its all just speculation but I'm not yet as wowed as I want to be yet. I made the mistake with BOZ giving myself the hype before finding the reason for it.CM101Play wrote:Other than no open world, how is your hype dying from that? Personally, it's making my hype go up!

Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" (PS4/XB1/PS3/360) Official Threa
I'm just confused how the game has been in development for more than 2 years, and this is all they have to show for it. I guess most of the development went into the story, that we no nothing about. The gameplay looks far from finished. Characters can barely hit each other, sfx playing without anything happening, the camera in favor of Player 1 the whole time (it's not like Naruto because in Storm the second player get's to come to the foreground at times). That interview just raised skepticism with me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still confident Dimps will deliver something better than ALL the last gen games we got. The visuals are still awesome, very faithful to the anime. A story we haven't played 1800 times. And a character creation system (allegedly). I'm not gonna knock this one down just yet.
