That CGI Jaco didn't look half bad, honestly.

That shot of Gohan was actually the best animated scene of the trailer, which is disappointing considering it's nothing special.

Damn, that cut of Freeza attacking Gokuu looks awful.

And we haven't seen Goku do much in any of the trailers apart from clashing with Freeza and getting his ass kicked by Freeza. So what's your point?Doctor. wrote:Well, no, but we haven't see him do anything in the trailers we've received so far besides getting KOed and turning Super Saiyan.Lord Beerus wrote:You're acting like Gohan is the only one who ever gets one-shotted.

It really is painful. There's just no dynamic quality to it at all. I have seen only some short few shots that looked remotely promising:KaiserNeko wrote:Oof. The animation in this is looking stiff... I mean, from what we've seen, it's not terrible, but it's not movie quality. God, Toei, just put the budget into this already.
Spoiler:

Battle of Gods looked okay, but I was kinda hoping we'd have more Shida-level quality following its success. I guess we'll see.

The point is that we've seen Goku fight and, prior to this trailer, we saw Gohan get... KO'ed... not really comparable situations, are they? I'm just saying it's good to see he doesn't immediately get destroyed by Freeza the moment he stepped into the battlefield.Lord Beerus wrote:And we haven't seen Goku do much in any of the trailers apart from clashing with Freeza and getting his ass kicked by Freeza. Hmm, Toei aren't exactly covering themselves in any glory with this animation, and the 3D may not do it any favours, either.

It was 30 second trailer and half of it contained scenes we've already seen. And that's pretty much gonna be the last trailer for the film, so it's exactly a great final attempt to hook people into the movie. Especially considering the animation is so average, it's kinda sad.SSJ God Gogeta wrote:Well that was just....

The budget is big enough, it's just being poorly handled. Even if this film only cost $400,000-600,000 to produce for eighty minutes that's still a good amount of money. The problem here is that the film was given to a guy who can direct or storyboard, was rushed out the door and doesn't seem to have any talented key animators assigned to it. A talented key animator who is allowed to do their own thing could easily improve a scene. More money does not necessarily mean the film will be better. Giving bad key animators a higher number of drawings won't fix their otherwise bad sense of timing. It will simply stick out as even worse because there is more movement.KaiserNeko wrote:Oof. It's worth noting we have seen absolutely nothing of Vegeta fighting Freeza yet. My guess is that if Yamamuro Tadayoshi and his production assistants managed to hunt down any good key animators for the film it will be Vegeta versus Freeza that they work on. I'm pulling for Kuroyanagi Kenji, at the very least!

That we actually had scenes of Goku fighting against two of Freeza's form prior, while we had no fight scenes from Gohan?Lord Beerus wrote:What's the difference?
I really don't see why it's hard to understand why I was worried he'd get one shot.

There is thoug, we've got more shots of Goku being beaten to Gohans single one.Lord Beerus wrote:Doctor. wrote:The point is that we've seen Goku fight and, prior to this trailer, we saw Gohan get... When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Wonder What Beerus is smiling about, as he looks to be about to blast something while looking back?
As for the animatation I don't expect it to be all that great to begin with anymore. With what Jacob, and Kei17 complaining ever since it had been announced and others have been saying about Toei, and Yamamuro being the director, I wasn't getting my hopes up.

It's going to be hard to decide when to stop visiting this thread. I really want to know how things play out in the end, as in who saves the day; does Frieza survive... but I don't want every little detail spoiled.

One has a good fight with Freeza and is respected. The other deals with low levels who logically can't even dent him or even Piccolo. It'd be like if Bull man suddenly beat Goku.Lord Beerus wrote:Doctor. wrote:The point is that we've seen Goku fight and, prior to this trailer, we saw Gohan get... I wonder what really is happening in that scene...
