Nah, Goku was down, but he ain't gonna lose. At the very, VERY least, he'll help keep the earth safe from Frieza. He may have been down in the trailer, but they'll be a way he revives or gets some kind of powerup.

Not to come across as being a bit of a spoilsport here, but you know, it's more or less an outright convention in any sort of 'hero' plot, especially in film, that the protagonist falls, goes through a process of restoration, and then triumphs.

Seeing Goku get looking beaten up doesn't really mean anything. Remember how prior to Battle of Gods we were shown a clip of Super Saiyan 3 Goku getting whipped by Beerus? Yeah.

Why even have a preview screening, especially this early? It's already going to spoil it for most fans whether they wanted to know the spoilers or not as they'll spread like wildfire but this just means everyone is going to know what happens a few weeks earlier and before it's even officially released. Same with these chapters which seem to give away the first, I dunno, 20-30 minutes of the movie away. I just don't get the sense in this at all. Why wouldn't they just want it to be a surprise like any regular movie?

Because they want butts in those theater seats.

The manga based on the movie is a carefully planned preview meant to excite kids. It's giving away nothing important and that's the point. It's merely setting up the premise of the film, like you said. "This is how the story starts, now beg your parents to take you to see how it ends!"

Many films in many countries are given preview screenings, so I'm not sure what to tell you there. You're just hearing about it more because you're on a Dragon Ball forum, I guess.

With how much Vegeta has changed it wouldn't surprise me if he decides to let him live only for Beerus to blow him up.

Uh Freeza still has trouble with Goku even after transforming based on the trailers, so there's no way he's anywhere near Beerus. And that's exactly how it should be. Freeza being above Goku due to lol 4 months of training is already bad enough. Making him stronger than Beerus or Whis would be utterly idiotic.

Well, that's... eh? I guess. His score for Battle of Gods was acceptable at worst, good at best, but if he brings his Kai performance to this movie, I'm not really feeling optimistic.

The more I see Kakarot fighting, the more I want Dragon Ball Heroes to be correct for him to have a "Saiyan beyond God" form.

I would enjoy an ending like that. Vegeta has never, ever been one to show mercy, and having him do that for once, especially dealing with someone like Frieza, that would make for quite a powerful scene.

It's totally fine if he surpasses Future Gohan, Android 18, Android 17, Android 16, all seven Cell Jrs, Piccolo, Future Trunks, Goten, Trunks, Kaioshin, Kibitoshin, Dabra, Vegeta, Fat Buu/Mr. Buu, Pure Buu, Gotenks, Gohan, Super Buu, Vegetto, and Godku in four months. Improbably surpassing those 26 characters, crapping all over the original story in the process, is acceptable. But no, not Beerus. Not character #27. Because that would just be utterly idiotic. As opposed to him surpassing everybody else.

Maybe. Actually I think that the very first shot of him in that TV Spot is right after some kind of "transformation" scene. We can't confirm since this form doesn't make any physically change.
