Well so far guys, I've chatted with Swift (who in Chibi_Goten's absence, is our new Daizu), and Kino has chatted with omegacwa and one or two others, I believe. I've been practicing a Roshi voice, and I'm raring for opinions on it from anyone I can get to chat with. Maybe I'll just record something and post it.

So those of you who are set can start recording your lines if you want. Otherwise, please let me or Kino know when you can be on Skype. Don't forget, there's a chat room now, too. A few of you have been popping in, and that's great, but we'd REALLY like to see more of you in there. Either me or Kino are just about always in there, and as of right now, it's possibly the best place to reach us. If you need help getting a program set up to get in there, you can ask me. I've been on Skype almost every day, too.

Come on, guys. We finally got the project up and moving again with my last push. I'm trying my best to keep it going, but right now it's largely up to all of you. I'd really like to see this project through to the end, but I can't do it alone. I don't have THAT good a voice.

I have to find the page that has the link to the chat-room program; I'll put it on my laptop tonight once I find it.

It's called "mIRC," it's easy and free and nice and did I mention free? A quick googling will find it.

Alternatively, if you happen to be using Firefox, you can get an add-on called "Chatzilla," which is equally as free but even easier to use.

*Bump*

I'm free all this week except for thursday to skype and free all this week including thursday for the chatroom.

Is there any preferred time for us to skype or should I just practice on recording my lines? I'm not sure if I should just skip to doing the lines themselves or not because I don't know at what speed we're moving at.

The preferable time for me to Skype is going to be after my classes, which are all done with by 3:30. Though, this week's been a bit chaotic so far; I still have to finish getting all my class supplies tomorrow, not to mention I have to deal with a potential meeting at 6:30 (which I am honestly not really looking forward to). So, the earliest day I can really say I'll be free IS Thursday. After that, it looks like I'll probably have time to voice-conference, too, though. And thank God next Monday is a holiday... that's all I can say. @_@;

So, yeah... Chu, I'll be available on Friday and after for voice-directing, at least. I don't know if Kaboom will be, but he'll probably say if he is soon enough. <.< And I think that it's a great idea to go and practice recording your lines, even with Skyping. I know that Conan was able to get to work on actually recording as soon as I finished conferencing on Skype with him, which is awesome. So yeah, if it helps you make sure you're ready to do the actual recording, by all means go ahead. Also, if for some reason the conferencing doesn't occur (which I hope won't be the case @_@ ), you'll probably want to start your final recording anyway, so we can just get it taken care of instead of wasting more time trying to reschedule again. If there are any lines that we feel you need to redo afterwards, we can just ask you to record those specific lines again. o-o

By the way, guys... I'm afraid I won't be around much on here for a while. I'm not going to disappear completely from the board, and I'm still going to be helping out with the project, and I'll still be available on I'm, Skype, and IRC... just, places like DaizEX and dA... not so much. If you need to contact me about something, just send an I'm or email my way instead of notes or PMs. You'll have a better chance of contacting me with those. I hope you guys aren't inconvenienced too much... this is just so I can focus on my classes...

Okay, that's cool. Friday would work just fine. :3

Up until then I'll work on my lines and (hopefully) have some lines recorded.

My semester starts next week so I'm going to do my best to get a good chunk of the lines done before my I lose my current sleep pattern for a more restrictive one. @_@

Well, my semester just started this week, but fortunately, my classes are a little better-blocked than last semester. I'm available Monday after five or so. Tuesdays and Friday I have classes most of the day, so I'm not available for Skyping. But I have like a 3-hour gap between classes on both days, during which I usually get stuff done on my laptop at the college, so I'll be in the chat and stuff. If there IS a Skype session going on, I can listen in but I can't talk. But Wednesdays and Thursdays I'm off altogether, and, as usual, I don't know my work schedule until usually Thursday.

So so far, we've chatted with... Swift, Omega, Mr.Announcer, and... one or two others I'm having problems remembering. That's still a lot of you missing, so try to be on Skype, and let us know when you can be on to chat, a'ight? Let's try to keep this rolling this time, okay?

Well it turns out I'm not dead......but I don't plan on being here very much anymore......so I'm cool with getting dropped from the movie. Too much suicide and depression at my school for me to do much right now.....

Ditto~! Both for Yamcha (w/t ADR screams/sounds/etc.) and Oozaru Gohan. Once I have an opportunity, I'll put everything in a few separate, orderly zip files and email them to whomever needs 'em. Congrats to you as well, Chuquita. :D

If anyone wants suggestions on what mic to use, I just ordered this one and it's crystal clear.

It's pretty cheap too.

Well... damn, I'm not surprised that it gives out good sound. Most of us have been working with the REALLY cheap computer mics, so I don't doubt that that sounds LOADS better.

For a higher-tier mic like that, yeah, that is a pretty cheap price. But, I'm not sure how many people here even have that much money to spare at the moment for something like that. (I know I don't right now, and I'm looking to get a much more expensive one than that in the future.) Also, I'm not sure how many people will be actively using a mic beyond this project and voice chats over I'm. So, they might not want to go beyond what they already have mic-wise if it works for them already.

Thanks for mentioning this, though. I'm sure those of us who're planning to get into more voiceover projects will want to take a look. :D

Also, Conan and Chu: since you've finished those recordings, send an email to Kaboom and me with them so we can listen to them. We'll let you know if there's anything we think might need re-recording, but other than that, you guys are good. (I think the preferred method for sending the recordings is in .wav format? Correct me if I'm wrong... )

Right now we need to make sure Tenken's still around; if not, we're going to need another person who can do the sound-mixing when all the recordings are done. Can any of our video editors do that? o_O

Also, Chu, it's not a big deal that you weren't available on Friday. I had to deal with an infection in my computer these past couple of days, so I can't say I was exactly available, either. @_@ It looks like it's taken care of, now.

Hey guys, just letting you know I'm not dead yet, and since I have no idea how things have been shaping up on this front since last I was churning away at the Visual Recording Guide (which I guess is scrapped now), humbly requesting what else needs to be done and if I can help with anything. Thanks!

Well as you may have noticed, a few people have already recorded their lines. Kino and I are running around like crazy trying to figure out what to do with them. @_@

The reason that mic isn't expensive as a studio-quality mic, is because it's powered by USB. It has everything built-in.

Simply means it can't be connected to a mixer, though possibly a preamp I haven't tried that.

Anyway, I'll post some audio clips next weekend if you want to see the quality. It's a really good mic for what you want (unless you want to use a mixer).

Well, yeah, personally, I was thinking of getting a mixer or the like as well. Apparently with a good audio interface, you don't really need to worry about how the recording will be affected by a computer soundcard. But, that's going to be later on in the future (later in the year if I'm lucky, but I'm not going to count on it). In the meantime, I've still got my little Logitech mic, so I'll make do with it. <.<

Go ahead and put up those audio clips when you make them, though. I'd be interested in hearing what that mic can do.

Anyways... Chu, Kaboom and I have gotten your lines. We'll be listening to all of them within the next few days when we have time. And Conan... we're still waiting on yours, dude. Just send them to us whenever. :P
