I believe it's because the characters look cooler and little else.

The original Dragon Ball has been around much longer though. DBZ has more action, but the original series is more iconic though. I'm pretty sure DB is also more popular then GT in Japan as well.

But I think that for this particular style of figures, DBZ and GT lend themselves more than DB. I mean, DB was more lighthearted after all, and the fighting was quite different to how it escalated in Z/GT. I want a Pan figure, and hell will probably freeze over before I see one, but oh well. Since they're doing GT after all...

DB Goku feels more iconic to me then SSj4 Goku. I won't count on more GT figures unless the demand is high. SSj4 Goku is likely getting made because of fan demand. Tamashii Nations won't make figures of characters that they feel like if they won't sell well. Which is why SHF Bio Broli will likely never happen.

Exactly, and despite how iconic it may be in general, I think you may be surprised at how many people just don't really like the original DB. I've seen TONS of people talking about how lame DB is because there aren't Super Saiyans, epic fights and giant laser beams. GT has those, so it tends to weigh a little higher on some people's preferences even though the writing wasn't that great.

I think a lot of the fans who hate DB are american though, and I don't mean this in a bad way, because after all, they met the series through the Z part, and the tone of that part of the series is super different from original DB. I don't know how japanese fans feel about GT (I think they might not be too fond of it, because it kind of bombed) but I see a lot of japanese fan works that focus on DB as opposed to GT, I think many japanese fans might feel nostalgic for kid Goku and like him for that reason.

I've seen lots of people comment on how even though they don't like GT at all, they still find SSJ4 Goku's design very cool, so I think that plays a part as well.

Close ups of Gotenks Buu and Ultimate Gohan (as well as the previously posted Gohan Buu). I'm fairly certain now that the two Buus are different releases. That would be a lot of parts to include for the different forms, and would probably make the release more expensive than they'd like.

Looking at Gotenks Buu though, they really do need to lengthen the legs on them. I though it was just Gohan buu's angle, but they are too short. Gonstead, tell Bran to start annoying Bluefin until they fix it. xD

Thats SICK!!

There aren't too many Gotenks Boo figures out there AT ALL, so this is definitely a plus. the Gohan Boo one kinda reminds me of the Jakks Boohan release that came out years ago.

Got an email from Amazon and it looks like Broly was pushed back to January.

I'm hoping that's just Amazon being Amazon with their typical delays on figures that other places still get on time...

I hope SHF Vegito is using a new body then the old body that the past Goku figures have used. I won't mind seeing SSj3 Goku getting a Shinkocchou version seeing that SSj3 Goku has no chance on being reissue since he is a web exclusive.

He's not. It's the exact same body as Goku (as is Ultimate Gohan), minus a few minor modifications. Like altering the forearms, because Vegetto's gloves go higher up than Goku's wrist bands. Otherwise, all the same folds on the clothes and everything on the promotional images.

Literally the only new things for Vegetto are the head, forearms and boots.

From a business standpoint, it makes sense to make use of the mold as much as they can. For Gohan and Vegetto, they don't need to sculpt an entire new figure for them, so they sculpt what needs to be new and save what resources that they didn't use for new figures that need a new sculpt entirely.

Those are the Shodo Neo figures. They're basically the same type as these 3.75 inch figures that came out around the time of Battle of Gods.

I wonder if they will do another version of SHF Future Trunks since the old one can't be reissued. Maybe they can do Cell Saga Future Trunks since they can reuse Vegeta's old body and put Trunks head on the body. The only new mold that they would make is that they would give him a new set of hair and maybe some new hands.

They really need to work out that exclusive status, since other toylines have figures that are exclusives in one country, but retail releases in another.
