I think he would have gotten killed off if Toriyama wasn't going to use him again.

I also hope that. Beerus is the most interesting villain(fair foe) in the series for me. I would like him to have to connection to new villain of the DBZ2015. I wouldn't be surprised if he would be the one to tell the wish.

I would be really happy to see Beerus and Whis once more, but I don't think that they should be recruited as rivals to Goku- he is not a match for them, even with new power-ups and please, I'd like to see it staying that way. Moreover, Beerus doesn't want to be Goku's rival- sure, he enjoyed fight, but lost his interest pretty soon. Nothing to compare to Vegeta's persistence.

I'm pretty sure that our beloved prince won't share Piccolo's fate. Piccolo was turned a friend into the beginning of Z- you may argue, but I'm pretty sure that was the moment the most of the fanbase was hooked up and main themes were established. Well, sometimes you can even forget that he was a foe after all. But Vegeta and Goku? Relationship that in various forms appeared in nearly every stance of DBZ? No way.

Now he's also being turned more into a joke character like Piccolo he needs to be pushed aside for Beerus who actually can beat a worthwhile opponent.

You're forgetting this is the DBZ universe where power ups always save the day and for once it might not be Goku.

Vegeta has been a chump and a joke for twenty years. I don't see how a movie that thrusts him into the spotlight in a position of authority and responsibility does him any worse.

Piccolo was one of the main characters and he was pushed aside for Vegeta once he became nothing compared to Goku. Vegeta is now becoming just like Piccolo, weak compared to Goku and a comic relief character so it could happen.

What would really be worse is if they just kept recycling the same plot points they did throughout Z already. Vegeta would become a SSJ God too but would still get get his ass kicked by the villain because he can rarely beat anyone, Goku would become a SSJ God 2 and again leave Vegeta in the dust and then beat the villain and save the day.

I like Beerus, but I would become highly outraged if he replaced Vegeta in a way or the other as a rival of Goku. No, Vegeta is the perfect rival of Goku being he has the same potentital like Goku does. Piccolo is another race, but he isn't useless not even now after so many years being well behind Goku. I still want so bad Vegeta to be the main protagonist in this following movie.

I am not able to imagine Vegeta other than a potent warrior beside Goku. I mean Vegeta doesn't know other things other than to fight. Piccolo started as a villain, then became a supporting warrior and ended up a wise ally to benevolence, because he is after all a Namekian. But Vegeta being a Saiyan he is destined to fight.

I can see Beerus being a hero, but as a rival I can't see that happening. I wouldn't really say Piccolo was a rival because he only was strong enough for Goku in 23 Tenkaichi Budokai, Saiyan Saga, and Imperfect Cell Saga. Vegeta has always been a rival of Goku and both of them have such similar traits. He is usually on par in every saga and has always had the will to fight Goku.
