DRAGON BALL IS THE KING OF (Fighting) ANIME!!!!!!! In my opinion, at least...

My reaction to anything about Dragon Ball post-2013 that I don't like and/or is stupid. :P

I think I can probably guess the reasons behind the sentiment, but from where I stand, there's no substantive difference between GT and anything else that came after EoZ. Why do you draw the line at GT specifically?

Another thing, when you try to mention things about GT or Movies, but some fans dismiss it as non canon and keep on saying "Why bother, it's non canon, so it doesn't mean anything..." as an example.

You mean the very small amount of people who most likely aren't even the least bit serious?
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

People who relentlessly trash Super, but keep watching the series "just because it's Dragon Ball."

Why would you willingly watch something that angers you and that you think is shit? It being part of the Dragon Ball franchise shouldn't have a bearing on whether you watch it or not. I like Naruto, but I absolutely despite the Boruto series, so I don't watch it or read it. I try to pretend it doesn't exist.

Hey, that sounds an awful lot like me...

Don't you feel that you're being a little disingenuous with yourself by pretending Boruto doesn't exist? Even if not, it's not the same situation as Super, which is still a Toriyama story in every way that matters. To pretend it doesn't exist would be no different than pretending that pre-Z doesn't exist.

As for why people watch and criticize... well, if you don't understand that, I honestly don't even know what to say. If you aren't critical, you don't really care. We talk about the problems because we want them to be acknowledged, and improved upon somewhere down the line. That's literally the nature of criticism, I don't see how it could bug you unless you're content with stagnation, or even outright decline.

To be honest I don't get that either. People do generally hate Super (look at that thread in Super's forum asking what people think of it, some outright hate it and call the majority of it crap), so I don't know why those people torture themselves with the series.

The original ending of the series is the Buu saga anyway, so you can continue to consider that the canon end of the franchise, since that's what it was for 18 years anyway.

In the case of Boruto? No. The Boruto movie was a perfect ending for the Naruto franchise. There was no need - other than greed - to create a Boruto spinoff in which
Naruto's accomplishments over the course of 700 chapters are rendered meaningless and he supposedly dies off-panel to some edgy kid.
Oh, I understand why people criticise, and they certainly have every right to. Super is a highly flawed series whose main goal is to sell merchandise to young Japanese boys. But my main issue lies with the people who watch the series even though they hate it, then go ranting on the internet, namely YouTube, about how shit it and and how the people who like it are nostalgia-blind fanboys. They bitch for the sake of bitching. Perhaps I should've worded my initial post better. I have no problems with the people who are able to legitimately criticise Super and elaborate on what they dislike and why without resorting to personal insults.

A bit extreme there aren't you? It's all part of the original serialization.

The new material from Toriyama came 16 years after the original run ended.

I don't really see how this is even a comparison to be honest.

You're denying something's a part of the story that by any reasonable standard, is a part of the story. When it was written and how it was serialized is entirely arbitrary.

I'm sure it's just a social experiment (looking through the comments, sure enough, it's confirmed to be the case), and the results are predictably annoying. Though to be fair, the poll is obviously rigged in a certain direction, and I can't blame everyone for not knowing everything. Regardless, 3 out of 10 fans from a sample of over 600 people saw right through it, that's higher than I would have expected.

Just because you ain't seeing it, doesn't mean it's a small amount. And, small or not, the very fact that they're there is a problem. And, while I do think most of em are pretty serious, crap like that shouldn't even be said in the first place. Serious or not. Period.

I don't get it at all. I see this a lot, but not particularly from DB fans. This happens a lot with wrestling fans, actually. I will never understand how people could wish death upon someone that they don't even know in real life just because they're not a fan of the work that the person puts out. You can say "Oh they're not serious" all you want, but to casually throw around something so offensive and disgusting is not okay. I'm not a huge PC activist who preaches about anti-bullying and whatnot, but it's just in such poor taste and so classless, that it's disturbing.

This extends way beyond just Nozawa. I've seen this about the dub actors too. And tons of movie stars.
