There are seven between March 30th and April 3rd in major Japanese cities (the Jump promotion), plus separate individual previews in Kyoto, Tokyo and Nagoya between April 3rd and 7th. Kei got into the Tokyo one (through Entermix magazine) on the 4th in Tokyo.
Since these preview screenings are happening a good couple of weeks in advance of the film's actual release, I'm guessing that theatres won't have their copies of 'Volume F' yet, right? Looks like that'll require a second trip...or a lot of money on an online auction. :P Same goes for the film's official programme guide.

Welp, after missing out on the seats initially going on sale, I bought 2 tickets for the Hollywood premier from an eBay seller. Yeah, it was stupidly expensive, but honestly, I'M KINDA FLIPPIN' OUT! I'm gonna be seeing this movie, in the theater, in Japanese, in a bit over two weeks.

Now just to hope that auction wasn't a scam.

Apparently (this is just what I've heard) New52 Superman isn't all that strong compared to Goku right now.

Wasn't this discussion supposed to be moved to the relevant thread?

Skar wrote:Freeza going from 120 million to SSJ God-tier would be the most impressive power-up in the entire series. No other character who has ever improved that much on their own. Even with all his years of training throughout the series Goku didn't think he could reach SSJ God on his own. Beerus has been training for millions of years with Whis and he was less than twice as strong as SSJ God Goku since Toriyama said Goku was a 6 and Beerus was a 10. Freeza has no training partner and never trained before but he's still going to reach them in four months. Freeza is not only a prodigy but the most incredible prodigious prodigy who has ever lived. The issue isn't that Freeza is getting a lot stronger with training but the fact that he's outperform every character in the entire series and the only explanation given is that he's a "prodigy". I've seen this a lot in fanfics and it's never considered creative or original writing. The very little attention they do get is mostly bad reviews complaining how much it doesn't make sense. The official work should be held at a higher standard than amateur fanfics but to be honest it seems to be the opposite. We're coming up with justifications for it but if we saw this in a fanfic we wouldn't bother.
You have an amazing point. I distinctly remember this silly fanfic from 2004, with fan drawn (More like traced) image of Dark Goku. It was literally SSJ Goku with blue hair, eyes, and aura. The idea was literally Sonic Adventure and Super Baby from GT combined. Basically, Goku in this fanfic absorbed all the negative energy from Vegeta, Gohan, Kid Trunks, Goten, and Future Trunks (Don't ask) to become to Dark SSJ while retaining his uncorrupted personality despite absorbing pure negative energy (Excuse was Goku is too pure to be corrupted) which raised his power level far beyond SSJ3 Vegetto level since the badguy they were fighting was so powerful he literally punched them (Goku & Vegeta) out their fusion (Rip off Hirudegarn much?) I found the entire idea very ridiculous, but nearly a decade later look and behold Toriyama literally does the same thing (Positive energy instead of negative energy) and a recolored red base Goku is born. Suddenly, reflecting on the past... Dark Goku doesn't seem so outlandish anymore.

Just read the second chapter of the manga. That two-page spread that includes the Bull alien in it also has another Toriyama manga cameo: a member of the same alien species as the villains from Cashman is part of Freeza's army.

Anime cameos:
-the same species as Ledgic from GT.
-two (possibly more) members of the species Bardock protects in Episode of Bardock.
-several members of Abo and Cado's species.
-a Kanassian.
-A Yardrat alien.
-a member of the species of that underwater alien from the Otherworld Tournament.
-a member of Yakon's species; oddly enough, it's got armor AND is on a leash.

I got deja vu from the panel on the bottom right of the page for two other aliens (the one on the right of the panel and on the left of it), but couldn't place them.

Yeah, I noted all those back when the chapter first dropped. I enjoy Toyotaro adding in these little easter eggs that the anime will probably never touch. too much work to make them unique. :/

BTW, the duo are Tobi and Cavira from Episode of Bardock.

Considering the number of cameos in the Tarble special (Neko Majin Mike, Ackman, Dub and Peter, whats-his-name from Cowa, remake-Slump's adult Akane), I wouldn't rule out anything when it comes to getting cameos or not in the next film.

There is a big difference between things like having a cameo icon on a computer screen and animating a cameo character as one of 1000 soldiers the heroes are supposed to fight. Keeping track of unique designs in the fight would become very difficult, so I expect almost all the soldiers will be copy/paste grunts so that we can't really tell who is who, who has been defeated, etc.

I hope there's some kind of new Ginyu Force type of soldiers, though, besides just the random soldiers. Tagoma and Sorbet filled the spot of Zarbon and Dodoria, now all we need is the Ginyu Force (and Cui, I guess). Someone said there's plenty of 1 on 1's in this movie, so I'm really hoping it's for the human fighters and not just Goku and Veggie.

I think the 1v1 thing was a mistranslation from Shonengamez? I seem to remember a Julian retranslation that said was supposed to be "each character gets a moment to shine" or something to that effect.

Anyway, I'm sure there will be a couple of unique soldiers, like the red "devil" guy. Maybe enough for a Ginyu like squad. I just wouldn't expect enough of them to to have a TON of them for some of the cameos like the manga version has.

True, but I'm referring to animated cameos among large crowds of people when the Saiyan pods tore through the city in the OVA and when crowds were looking up at the screens while Satan was being interviewed. You can spot Ackman easily enough and, if you take the time to pause and un-pause like crazy during the crowded scenes, you spot all the other people I mentioned.

I'm not saying they should be treated like small-scale versions of Jaco's role in the film, so much as it's possible that we'll get Easter Egg cameos like the ones in the Tarble OVA.

Thought this would make for a fun discussion: What is everyone most looking forward to finding out about? Me being...me, I have one or two bizarre things on my list that I'm sure no one else would care about:
- How the movie opens. Does the 20th Century Fox logo play at the start? Will there be any sort of opening animation?
- What Sorbet's role and fate is.
- What the end credits are like and what plays alongside them. In BOG we had a recap of the Manga; will we have new ending animation this time?
- If there are any new world-building tidbits.
- How and when the song, 'F' is used.
- If there's anything more on the back-stories of Beerus and Whis, specifically the latter.
- Vegeta. Everything about his role in this movie. :P There's seems to be a lot of expectation surrounding him...that shot of him in the trailer...
- And of course, how it all ends. What are the contents of this teased after-credits scene? To quote the trailer, “Just what is the worst outcome that waits at the end of the fierce battle…?”

This is exciting. Things are going to be insane between now and the end of April.

I'm most looking forward to seeing who worked on the film. The script will be sufficient enough in all likelihood, so it's really the contributions from everyone else that is to be worried about.

The story and if it'll be good, or fanfiction like ideas with a budget. I doubt it'll disappoint me, but the concept is not very appealing like Battle of Gods was when I was first hearing all about it. My other concern is characters and if things will really become like GT where only Goku or Vegeta to a lesser extent are all that matter. So far that's seemingly how things may play out from now on.

There's also battle powers and consistency, but that's less important to me than the story, character treatment, and how well the action scenes are animated.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Gokû and Vegeta having entertaining interactions with each other. :3 I want to see something that at least matches "adventures inside Buu" and "Jump 2008 special" levels of playing off each other. *u*

I mean, they're classmates now. They're training together for the first time! Are they roommates on Beerus' planet too? Do roommate-related hijinks ensue? There is so much potential there.
Also Freeza and the 'ohohoho, Mr. Vegeta come back and work for me as the head of my forces'. tease. Potential for double-agent Vegeta. Gokû not understanding that Vegeta's double-agenting and being torn apart by what he thinks is a betrayal after they'd gotten so close as classmates. Possible cliffhangers. Whis' "do-over" powers. My hopes that Gokû uses ssjg mode, and that Vegeta gets a blue ssjg mode.

I really enjoyed BOG; but the one major plot thing I missed during it was Gokû and Vegeta sharing a plotline. F looks like they are sharing a plotline this time around and if that's true it has potential to be amazing.

Not gonna lie, I really want to know what the new transformation is for Goku in Heroes. Is that Vegeta powering up scene just a cop-out? Really hoping it could be both. Maybe they both get something new! 2 days to go, and I am so excited!

The new blog entry (http://ameblo.jp/dragonball2015/entry-12006471294.html from yesterday at this point...it seems they update late on the weekends) features what everyone loves to hear about most: promos! :P The most fun from this batch (that I hadn't seen yet) is special popcorn boxes with either "Death Ball" flavor (maple & chocolate) or "Kamehameha" flavor (curry). I'm intrigued by the maple chocolate...not a combo I've seen before, but I think I'd enjoy it.
