When I was talking about surviving, I mean surviving long enough to have some longterm epic battle. Like Goku has shown that a god form can survived for a short burst in space in 87. But space will still kill them as shown with Vegeta in Resurrection 'F'.Rebel Instinct wrote:
You said that Beerus was never shown surviving in space without a bubble provided by Whis. This is incorrect. Both he and Champa were shown surviving in space without a bubble in episodes 1, 2 and 25. Whether or not Dragon Ball takes artistic license with physics isn't my point (though it has been shown to do so in the past). Whether or not Whis is responsible for Beerus surviving in space is purely assumption. Nothing was factually stated on the subject in any of the previously mentioned episodes. You don't appear willing to concede this point though, so I'm dropping it here.
I really don't care. I am just pointing that being a God of Destruction doesn't automatically mean that someone can survived in space or if they can it is for a long period of time.Legion wrote: So you just ignored the underwater part. Beerus and Champa certainly can. Both the anime and manga showed them in spaceHeroR wrote:When I was talking about surviving, I mean surviving long enough to have some longterm epic battle. So Manga Jiren has a personality, who would've thought.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Everyone. Manga is different from the anime, so Jiren having a personality would be the most logical expectation considering he doesn't have a personality in the anime (but it's still too bad we didn't see Gogeta in the manga and Future Trunks saga's ending is still pure shit in there too).Zamasu55 wrote:So Manga Jiren has a personality, who would've thought.

You're right, Jiren does look a bit more slim and trim in the manga. Another thing that sets him apart from his anime appearance is that his head is more in proportion with the rest of his body. He doesn't have anime Jiren's tiny head syndrome. It's something I actually first noticed in the line art Toyotaro posted on twitter.OLKv3 wrote:He looks longer and thinner on the profile shot, but in the zoomed out shot he looks like his anime selfHeroR wrote:I'm honestly not seeing the different.OLKv3 wrote: Toyo's Jiren looks weird, gonna take some getting used to

So the whole jiren doesn't have a personality meme is going strong huh?
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I'm going to flip my shit if Jiren does that one-armed flying pose.
Feels over Reals.

As Lord Beerus addressed here: why not have someone giving the birth to a baby in this series? Sure would be not something explicit, but it would feel better emotional-wise than Whis using his plot fix 'magical powers'.Grimlock wrote:Yeah, Bra is the ugliest baby in Dragon Ball now, surpassing even Dragon Ball Minus' Goku while in incubator.
Oh, and she just came out of Bulma while wearing diaper.

Somehow he came up with an outrageous assumption that Whis has a bubble around Beerus. I’ve never seen a bubble around Beerus before. Why would someone who’se not a god be able to survive in space but a god can’t?Rebel Instinct wrote:HeroR wrote:Except since space is a vacuum with no air, you really can't talk. Beerus had a full conversation with Champa in the middle of deep space in episode 25. There were no visible bubbles from either Whis or Vados, just empty space around them.

Toriyama : Jiren is the strongest guy in the tournament and goku's biggest obstacle
Toei : lets only show him for 5 seconds before the tournament meditating and looking on the horizon
Toyo: Let me try to show off his personality and his motivation

Jiren reminds me of Edgy Batman with that personality. Quiet, aloof, no-nonsense. I do wish we got to see more of his friendship with Toppo though. Superman and Batman at their best are always giving each other shit. It could be a very funny dynamic.Jigurashi wrote: I'd say he has a personality after 109-111. Jiren does have a personality in the anime. It's just it's boring and extra-clicheable. In fact it's the same boring as Hit in the anime, too calm and mysterious.
I was sure all along Jiren would actually be cool in the manga.

Jesus Christ, 5 hours later, still talking about "personality"
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Except even edgy batman seems to have a sense of urgency. Jiren seems even more detached from "humanity" than even Batman. I no Fs given attitude contrasts sharply with the hero getup.BlueBasilisk wrote:Jiren reminds me of Edgy Batman with that personality. Quiet, aloof, no-nonsense. Hits wasn't this bad as he seemed to express genuine appreciation for Goku as an opponent. Further we get a sense of his moral code as well on a few separate occasions. Even before he fights we see interactions with Hit and Frost.Namz wrote:Jiren does have a personality in the anime. It's just it's boring and extra-clicheable. Hit is more like Piccolo where he avoids losing his cool. Jiren is more like a brick wall which is generally uneffected by the elements surrounding him.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Jiren in the anime will do that anyways. Just wait until Goku masters Ultra Instict (which apparently could be next episode)TheMikado wrote:Hits wasn't this bad as he seemed to express genuine appreciation for Goku as an opponent.Namz wrote:Jiren does have a personality in the anime.
