That's the biggest thing. I don't hate the colors, but the white areas that make them look like they're made of plastic are awful!

I'm in the minority here, but this is one of the few times I prefer Super. I like the colors and the line thickness of the Z-esque pic, but the proportions look better on the Super screen cap here (& that rarely happens).

Funnily enough, I was playing around with recolouring today. Just went with Kai's colour palette since it's closest to the original cels by a large margin.

I took a couple of liberties with the designs, but I'm pretty happy.

Bottom right's skin is a fraction too pink, but eh. It's only a mock-up.

Those colors aren't quite right (the Super Saiyan hair is too pinkish, and the skin is too dark).

Here's my attempt at color correcting. I also touched up the designs a bit, mainly regular Goku's jawline being narrowed, and the noses and mouths tweaked.



The things most people, and apparently Toei don't seem to remember is that when characters turned Super Saiyan, their clothes (and sometimes their skin) get lighter. I replicated that and matched it to Kai's palette here.

Yeah, the fan drawing doesn't really look right at all. It doesn't match any style from back in the day, and the proportions and colors are wonky.

The animators will get a little extra time, but don't expect any big changes. This isn't the first time Super has been on a break, and nothing changed when it happened that time.

Thats sort of dissapointing, but now that I remember the last time they took a break the episode looked almost the same as the preview. I was really just assuming that because the schedule's in a bit of a better place then they could add some more tweaks.

Actually, that's not true. At least, not in the manga:



His gi doesn't get yellow-ish when Gokû turns Super Saiyan 3 like in the anime. The colors don't change. I appreciate that they corrected this.

Though, I really dislike Gokû's gi red-ish color in Super.

Even here the skin is lighter in SS, so I probably should have done so in mine. I just didn't have these images on hand at the time for a proper color comparison.

This change isn't necessarily wrong, nor as egregious as Trunks' hair, but it's not far behind, and it is a notable inconsistency.

Only if you're looking at FUNimation's footage, or the Dragon Boxes, both which have different colors depending on the episode. In Kai and the cels it's consistent all through Z. Unless you're referring to GT.

FNF looks way worse recolored. FNF should remain untouched it was perfect in terms of color usage.

I once read people comparing dragon ball entirely to Hunter x Hunter , if you're that type of a individual then please stop it can't be compared in all fronts. Hell 99% of the characters in Super and some parts of Z are shit irrelevant.

I mean, I wasn't actually attempting to match Z, and am well aware of how the gi changes colour, I was just throwing out my own version using Kai as a reference. It turned out more like the 2008 special in the end, really.

That does look nice, though. I'd slant the eyes more if I were being really nitpicky.
