Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

"Who's Goten?"
"Dragon Ball is slapstick comedy. Wait no it's serious action. Back to comedy!"
He changes his mind all the time and uses his authorship of the franchise as an excuse to not have to follow his own work

Also note that if this is the case WE were both wrong. Because it is neither Mystic/Ultimate Mode or SSG but a BLUE SUPER SAIYAN.
Maybe it was because Vegeta's actor liked it better. The user, Menkon, showed him an image of two variations of Super Saiyan God Vegeta and Ryo Horikawa preferred the blue back in 2013.

To bad Toriyama doesn't listen to fans at all. At least we know what the next trailer will look like then.
Dragon Ball Heroes God Mission = Best sets of missions so far

...considering how popular this franchise is, including the "Super Saiyan" forms... that's a rather silly notion.

So you think the concept of one 93 minutes movie, which nobody has seen yet, basically sums up what Toriyama thinks of Dragon Ball as a whole? That is an absurdly narrow minded way of looking at things.

No sweetie, I think his interviews across the years, BOG and other new stuff (like Jaco) show prety well what he thinks of DB and what is "should" be. As in, it is whatever he feels at a current moment with little thought put into what he already wrote before. That's what I have a problem with it, it's not great for continuity of the franchise

You know, if fans saw those toys (including Golden Frieza) a year ago, they'd instantly assume they were terrible, ugly bootlegs. If fans drew them, people would be rolling their eyes and praising Toriyama for his originality.
Yet I know when this movie is released, the same people will be saying things such as, "Oh. The designs have grown on me!" or "I actually really like them now!" -.-
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Why did people think Toriyama is immune to criticism? People criticism Toriyama for his creative decisions constantly. The most recent being Dragon Ball Minus, which critically thrashed by 90% of the people on the forum.

To be honest I absolutely don't like the new blue color for their hair. It just makes Goku and Vegeta look sinister.
cough*
Goku new form should have new physical appearance(not talking about cosmetic appearance such as different hair color) but have him be taller, slightly more muscular and possible give him an armor. something similar to an egyptian type armor to make him stand out as a god similar to beerus.

And why's that? The series is popular because of the Story, characters, Art, fights and so on, not because Super Saiyan was showing that Blond hair represented strength.
And as the French forum's boss just reminded us over here in France, watch this:
What if the idea was that Super Saiyan God was not completely achieved in BOG, for example due to one of the members just being a foetus.
It's almost as if it was supposed to be blue (blue aura, perhaps blue straight hair falling down, even blue eyes for a split second) and immediately fell back to a midway status.
Of course, Toriyama doesn't think that far ahead, but it could be that he's been inspired by watching what it looked like when seeing BOG.
Then again, all of him is actually blue due to the aura for a split second... But those blue aura and sparkles to begin with, which are not seen again. Really seems to indicate that the true God energy would be blue under normal circumstances.

I'll just wait until the we get the movie details tomorrow before I pass judgement. I honestly hope the Blue SSJ God thing isn't real, because that really does reek of fanfiction.

People are so ungrateful. We actually get a new dragon ball chapter from Akira, and all people do is attack and criticize him.

Well that confirms it 'Edward' is going to play vegeta in the next live DBZ movie
If there is another evolution in the transformation then I can only assume the follow up to this will be on the multiverse that was revealed in the last movie, heck we might even get a new anime series.
Well he is the only actor I know who actually has hair some what like Vegeta's and can pull of Vegeta's "I'm always pissed off" look.
