Hey, Perfect Cell absorbing people is impossible too but everyone starts jerking off as soon as anyone mentions it. It's Dragon Ball for fucks sake, Super 17 was born by super-imposing two 17's and calling it a merger. How did that even work?
Edit, I thought I had posted this previously:
I still think a second Super Saiyan 3 Future Trunks takes the stupidity cake here.
This is really weird, I'm not really sure how it works so I'm going to say that Super 17 ate Cell, just because he can.

Perfect Cell still has his stinger so it should be possible. He just doesn't need it anymore.
Super 17 already didn't make much sense. It would have been better if it was done like Super 13. Problem with Super 17 is that all we get is a big light when they fuse, we don't see how they actually do it. But this is like when 13 absorbed the chips without actually opening up his body.
That is an odd thought.

Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
Yeah, Dragon Ball doesn't make all the sense in the world, but the less sense it makes the more stupid it becomes. I like it when it tries to make sense or at least if it doesn't it tries to make a gag out of it. Perfect 17 isn't a gag and it makes very very little sense. It's stupid.

That's Shenron's face, and it's on all the cards:

I think having a Ultimate Perfect Cell would have been better in my opinion. I just wonder what type of new card we will get for the Shadow Dragon saga? Maybe SSj4 Vegito or maybe something random like Buu absorb Yi Xing Long.

But he was designed to absorb 17 and 18 to achieve perfection, absorbing anyone else should not change him.
It wouldn't change his appearance but he'd still get his energy.

That was my point. So... Do you want a card like that? Just normal Perfect Cell with a boost? What are you even discussing? I rather have this, we don't even know how it works.
Maybe Hellfighter #17 can simply assimilate other beings through his skin, like #13 assimilated components. Super #17 is an improved version of all the Artificial Human technology, or at least he seemed that way. He had infinity energy like #17 and #18, full body energy absorption, an improved version of #19 and #20's; so who's to say he doesn't possess an improved version of assimilation? Maybe that's what happened in the first place, maybe Hellfighter #17 simply assimilated #17 through his skin and now Super #17 assimilated Cell.
Is that a little more reasonable for you guys? Rationalizing it this way kinda makes more sense than the other way around, like we known, all that would happen to Cell would be a power boost, he is not designed to evolve any more.
And now I want Baby Hatchiyack even more to counter balance Super 17 Cell.
Edit:
Hold a butt fucking minute... Why is it that Gero has two hidden partners? Are we gonna get a twofer?
Let's wait to see how it happened, and then call it stupid. We can't know if it's stupid if we don't even know how it happened.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Not really I don't want a card like this or Perfect Cell with a boost. I consider them both stupid as if they just want to use it just cause. But that can pretty much be applied to all the SSJ3's lately.
There is no explanation as of now and everything is just a theory. It's opinionated whether its any good or not for the most part.
Bebi seems to be the same as Boo when it comes to assimilating other things and taking on their attributes.

He really doesn't seem to be all that different from regular Super 17 (that just sounds like an oxymoron). I guess the attack he's charging up could be obscuring some other changes but I feel like they'd want to show them off if they were that different.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Black and/or red Cell-like face markings, at least Cell's shoulder armor where his shirt has the holes in it, and he also has Cell's shin armor visible right above the Berserker symbol where there is a new hole in the jeans on his right leg.
Was really hoping for unobstucted art on the update tonight (either via the background on a news update, but no. SO we'll have to wait on the in-game reveal. :/

I noticed the face and shoulders, but not the legs. I still don't think that's a significant change for absorbing Cell. I guess it implies that underneath his clothes his skin has changed almost completely minus his face.

Maybe? Uncertain. In Victory Mission, they seem to be playing a similar quasi villain role for now, but will probably become friends with Beat once he beats them. For the commercial, everyone stopped the battle when they realize they were there. We don't know if they were backup for Super 17 or if they were going to end up helping the heroes defeat him.
