They kinda still are. You see, Gohan prior to the ritual had his eyes and eyebrows drawn apart when giving a happy expression:DBZGTKOSDH wrote: But his eyes are not in the "bad guy" style, and when he was in his Ultimate state, his eyes were literally always like that. Post-ritual Gohan will have them drawn attached to each other:

Uhm...no, it really doesn't. It's a simple sketch.dbzfan7 wrote:His recent Goku design pretty much confirms that.NeoKING wrote:Nah, Toriyama just draws everything skinny these days.
I also don't think the strenght of the Anubis rabbit look-a-like should be judged by how skinny he is. Doing that is like getting a zero power level reading on a scouter pointed at Uub and trying to effortlessly flick him away.

Simple or not, it isn't hard to add a little bulk to Goku. I have gone to people who do a bulkier Goku in short sketches. It was how Toriyama pictured Goku.Rukura wrote:Uhm...no, it really doesn't. Wow, never noticed that before. Then this could be a side-effect of the ritual. He lost 2 out of 3 characteristics, though. So the form still isn't nessesarily permanent.Son_Gohan wrote:They kinda still are. But still, even if it really was permanent, then Gohan would still need to power-up like he did in Movie 13, since he had his power suppressed in his every-day life. Much like when he & Goku were living normally as Super Saiyans before the Cell Games, but still had to power-up against Cell.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Now that I'm pretty sure it's a cat, I can't help but think of fun/silly youtube cat videos and of the way Goku defeats Neko Majin.
Well, if these bad guys can do things like shrink Pilaf's gang to tiny-size, I hope we get to see some crazy magic spells, reality-warping, magical zones, and curses they can perform on the main characters.

Definitely looks like the Egyptian cat god Anubis.
Why the hell does it show Gohan as a Super Saiyan? And Super Saiyan Trunks's hair is more like SSj long haired future Trunks too.

I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time, everything is 3D blasphemy.
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way I picture me.
I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

That's a good Question. WHY are most anime Characters skinny these days? Is there no maliness at all anymore?
Also I think that character is just A opponent, Not THE opponent

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
It's simply Toriyama's style now. He's always done goofey stuff with his mangas, and almost all his more recent manga characters are thin and frail-looking. It gives appeal to a wider audience if the characters have a kiddy look than characters who look like juice-heads.Toonami97 wrote:That's a good Question. The issue I have is that no anime characters are really well built now, so I agree with you. Even the ones we know fight and work out a lot. Naruto to me is too skinny for the shit he does as is Luffy. It's simply a case of manga "artists" not wanting to draw muscle definition. And I put artists in quotations because in real honesty, most manga artists couldn't draw their way out of a paper bag.
Indeed. Mybad. He's a JackalExcept Anubis isn't a cat.

The musical soundtrack itself should be very interesting considering the appearance of the characters which have history.
Definitely different from the other DBZ films.

In their defense, if I was trapped in a paper bag the last thing I'd want to do is draw.Ketchup_Revenge wrote: And I put artists in quotations because in real honesty, most manga artists couldn't draw their way out of a paper bag.
Plus, I always thought the reason Luffy and Nartuo where skinny was because they were young. Like mid to late teens, where muscle definition isn't really a thing. I don't really watch the shows, so I could be way off with this. But I believe Naruto was 16 when the series started. Right?
In regards to Dragonball and specifically this new villain, I think the skinniness has to do with the way a jackal actually looks. Plus Egyptian art doesn't exactly portray their male characters as Super Buff. As for Goku and the others, I kind of like how they've slimmed down a bit. They look more like martial artists rather than body builders.

I'm not a Naruto fan by any means, but I believe he was around 12/13 years of age when it started, unless your referring to Shippuden, then you'd be correct.
