When I went to a local Hastings a few days ago (retail store for those who don't know), I saw four used Season 1 Box Sets all uncased and a used Season 7 Box Set. There's probably more now. It seems there's local fans who know about the Dragon Box too....

Anybody else have the same situation?

EDIT: 100 pages in 6 days, wow....

Why would there be anything wrong with the Dragon Box masters?
They're old and the colors are aged looking. They still look good, but they looked better 20 years ago.

Why are people acting like it's 100% concrete?

You're all acting like the Faulconer track suddenly just dropped off of the Earth. The dude on Twatter or whatever said he needed to double check.

Simma dow' na chil'ren, simma dow' na.

It's likely to be the case, but the FUNi rep on Twitter needs to double check.

To be honest the thing I worry about the most with this release is if they keep the Japanese insert, opening, and ending songs in the dub. Other things I hope for are the American BGM and the quality do to there being 42 episodes on 6 disc.
Aka gtadbzman.

Oh, okay. Thanks for clearing that up! :D I might just end up buying the Dragon Boxes anyway, but for now I'm gonna get all of those Saga box sets released by FUNi back in the day. :P

No. Can't say it was. I don't really watch TV, and when I do I avoid Colbert Report like the plague.

It was just a lame joke aimed at the fact that I don't care for silly social networking sites. (Says the guy who just posted on a forum... which is different... somehow.) :? :P

Your sig is a little out of date. We're getting 4:3 DBZ now. :P

Yeah I know. I don't feel like editing it. I guess it worked in the end? Though 4:3 Season Sets would've probably satisfied me back then, Dragonboxes work for me! lol I haven't posted in quite a while. Though I did have to address an odd PM and accusation a while ago... :?

Anyways... Dragon Box!

I'm sorry, but why is it so important to have the dub music on the Dragon Box? The whole point of this release is to keep as much of the original version of Dragon Ball intact as possible.

DB fans now have a choice. One geared towards the Japanese version, and one for fans of the dub. Can't you just go watch the season sets? I see no point in making the two releases more similar and ambigous.

If Funi tries to please too many people with this release, they are going to end up squeezing 2 English tracks on there and we're already worried about video compromises.

They don't want to have to watch the season sets, though; they want to have the same video quality that we'll have in the Dragon Box.

Quoted from a few pages back, but seeing this really begged me to post this little story, as unrelated to Dragon Ball as it is. It's these misunderstanding that needs to be taken care of. I promise to get back on-topic, I swear.

One of my friends is another big anime fan. Yeah, she dislikes English dubs and, for the most part, avoids them altogether. But that is not the purpose of this story. She attended a local anime convention here in Minnesota and spent some time in the con suite. There, she met a guy whom she talked with for hours, only to do the same thing every day of the con. The man: Kyle Hebert. Alright, she made a friend, and he happened to be a dub voice actor. What-evs, just another person to her, really.

A year passes.

Her mother is a meth addict. Not a joke. Her home-life is literally in shambles, and then theirs social awkwardness at school during this time. As some do, she sought comfort in cutting. No, not the best way to deal with things, but everyone knows that doing it is not always a cry for attention and sometimes its the only way people in their situation feel in control.

Luckily, she makes it out of the house and her depression and becomes a much happier person. Though she learned a lot from those dark times, there is always a reminder on her person. She's not embarrassed, that's part of her life and she does not want to forget what her hellish life is like so she can freely enjoy the life she lives now.

The next con comes around. She sees Kyle and strikes up a conversation with her. So they were buddies last year and talked for hours.

His reaction to seeing her along with the marks on her arm?

"Oh, poor emo. Why don't you go cry somewhere away from me?" No, she nor I am wording this to make it sound harsher.

What really provoked him to react like that to someone with scars on their arms? Don't know. But I damn well know that he is NOT a nice person because of this. And no, I'm not saying this because I'm not a dub fan, but because I don't like misinformation being passed around.

Anywho...

Since I'm one to watch the original Japanese version, the only way that the announcement of dub track affects me is if its stereo or 5.1 and what effect that could have on the video. I just want FUNi to really get this release right. They've done really well by their other releases and I am seriously pulling for them to get this right. They will have my complete and utter respect and most doubts I could have about them afterward would be non-existent.

Whoa, whoa. Please tell me you're joking.

If that's 100% true, then I'm watching subs from now on out of spite for him. I refuse to have my favorite character be associated with that.
