Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.
After all the things that have been revealed or kinda at least, still nothing on exactly how in the hell freeza managed to get like millions of times stronger. I want that.
Birusu16 wrote:Vegeta and Goku are probably equals at this point. They were likely slightly stronger or slightly weaker than Golden Freeza and were only winning and/or losing through various circumstances.
I beg to differ. I believe its
Goku=Vegeta>Frieza
we do know how they fight or like how saiyans fight, they like long battles, lets say if they were blood lusted or going in for the kill they could have destroyed Frieza easily. That full powered kamehame ha gave it away, a blast that could destroy earth along with Vegeta? and Goku being able to not only destroy that attack but also kill Frieza in the process says a lot.

I wanna ask though. Just HOW much of Jaco is CGI? I noticed quite a few shots of him as CGI animation.

Freeza blowing up the earth cause he was losing is enough for me to be happy.
I can't wait to see what Sarbot was talking about.
Same here.
Lol at the way Toriyama writes. Him saying thet he wanted Vegeta to be the hero and not doing it, that Is SO him. I half-expected this from the get-go. The other half of me figured that he'd make Vegeta the hero only because he'd forgot that he said that he wanted him to be the hero

Whis rewinds time, so what happened never happened.
It happened and it still has to happen, otherwise the reason for Whis to rewind time doesn't exist. Grandpa paradox 101. Toriyama just opened can of worms he doesn't even understand lol

Man this wasn't a fair fight at all when you look at it
Freeza had help from Sorbet
Vegeta took on a depleted Freeza
Goku with a seznu bean and help from Whis killed an exhausted Freeza
I open up the thread and immediately get blasted with spoilers. I suppose it's time to go on blackout earlier than I expected.

Honestly, this would only make me slightly satisfied. To make me happy, he'd also have to grab Freeza by the tail, drag him to the nearest toilet, and give him swirlies until he submits and calls him "daddy."

Why even bring Freeza back? He died accomplishing nothing with his revenge, this is bad for his character.
Seems like it may have indeed been the fact that Vegeta couldn't breathe in space that killed him.
Asked about how Vegeta died.
Apparently whether it was the explosion or lack of air wasn't completely explained since they were more focusing on the disaster of the aftermath, but Bills comments about how Freeza can survive in space so the implication is that it was probably the lack of atmosphere I guess

Because Toriyama heard that "F" song and though "hmm i should bring back Freeza"

Myeh. Kinda sucks when you look at it that way. Maybe the next movie will redeem the warriors and make them look less... Desperate for help? I don't think they're always gonna have Whis around. That would make for a boring way to end movies, by just having a guy that can skip back in time a bit to help save everyone.

Sounds to me if not for Whis, he would have won. Maybe Goku would be able to beat him still if time weren't turned back, but if not then Whis or Beerus probably would have beat him anyways.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

Considering Goku's knowledge of Freeza's track record when it comes to being backed into a corner, can you blame him?

Well, it's a war and all, not exactly a tournament fight. I never expected Freeza to play fair anyway.
Doctor. wrote:Why even bring Freeza back? He died accomplishing nothing with his revenge, this is bad for his character.
I'm still thinking/hoping that his 'losing the battle but winning the war' has more to it that we don't know about yet.

On the flip side everyone got to shine.
Goku saves earth.
Vegeta kicks Freeza's ass.
Freeza kicks Goku's ass and destroys the earth.
No one got the short end of the stick which is what I expect from Toriyama.
