I think you should state which charcters you definately want to sound English or American, like it won't make any sense if Goku sounds like an American, and then Gohan sounds like he's from England. Then again for people like Zarbon who accent isn't American anyway in the dub, what would you think is best, there should be exceptions for the 'alien' characters.

If I were to be able to do anyone's voice is would be Freeza's, Vegeta's or the Narattor/Kaio Sama, judging by how they sound in the Japanese version.

Whiney Oozaru.

Also, Bejita, some of it is VA imitation. The fact Masako is Goku and someone else is Gohan, I can merely say Gohan picked up on his mother's more natural accent and leave it at that. I know what you're saying, but it then works the other way around if Masako can no longer be Goku for whatever reason, I then have to go for the Understudy and I'm stuck with a British Gohan I specially casted because of Masako. I'm mostly letting people do what they want and I said Japanese or Ocean Cast, or own interpretation.

Send in some auditions, Bejita, I would be happy to hear them.

Zarbon is an easy one for me if you're looking for the original Ocean voice (which I thought was rather good - he had a cool British accent).

But I'll send you an audition when you're looking for it.
In a nutshell: Likes the sub and the dub and barely ever posts.
You'll probably find me here more often...

I might try out for some of these, I mean why the hell not. I understand Goku is already chosen, but what about Vegeta? Plan on casting him as well? I would be glad to audition for him.

I do a pretty good Goku though(cough the other dub I was involved in that never came to fruition cough), so maybe I will try the U/S role.

I'm rubbish at voices and acting for that matter, but good luck to you, as I'd definitely like to see this come to fruition.
Not a problem.

I have a question. How are you going to be pronouncing saiyan.

Like SAYan, or SIGHan.

Where do you plan on releasing this? YouTube is a bad idea.

Not if you post a disclaimer about copyright, fair use, and promote official releases.

As far as release goes, me and my editor aren't certain yet. I will certainly be using a Youtube channel to do promotion, but ... I don't know. A similar Yuugiou fandub released episodes on Youtube then put a download link. It's up in the air at the moment.

That's a good point. I will edit the first post now.

SIGHan.

On the note of Vegeta, we will cast the first episode and then hold auditions for the rest of the Saiyan (SIGHan) Saga.

That's all common knowledge. I'm just saying, there's a certain degree of silent okay if and when it's drilled into the viewers head to support official releases. Any company that's not ignorant and greedy can view it as free advertisement. How do you explain Dragon Ball Z Abridged? Obviously FUNimation knows about it but they've decided not to do anything about it. If anything a fandub might fuel the flames for a possibility of an official dub.

We'll have something at the start about supporting the official release, but if FUNi tells us to officially stop, then I will oblige. I want to get as far as I can, but it is technically a free advertisement for them.

Since I've got a deep voice, I can imitate Daisuke Gouri's voice :)
...Probably my English isn't good enough to dub, though.

Ok I see.

I'm not going to audition, it does sound like a fun thing and I would do it, but that's all it would be a bit of fun and nothing serious, I can't see myself doing something like this for real and commit myself to it I'd probably be a let down, but I'll be on youtube watching it when it's done to see what goes on so good luck with it. 8)

Are you seriously aiming to release by May? To fandub isn't an easy process...

All that left to do in Episode 1 is essentially put the voices in. If all goes according to plan, it should be released in May.
