As far as I know, I don't think he was ever given a name in the dub of the show. I think the first time we see "Spike" was in Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
Can anybody confirm or deny this?
EDIT: Just checked. Baba calls him "Spike." Although, nobody says his name after that. I wonder if this was a censorship for the TV version.
Dameon Clarke does his voice! I need to watch Dragon Ball again.

If they will pick Taopaipai... they should use the "Die in three seconds" for it, since it's "Season
Three"

I really want Bulma on the cover. Are we alone on this?

Looked it up.
Yes, unfortunately they do.
In Sparking!METEOR, I think it's just "Devilman".

I'm gonna say either Tien [if its that far in the series] or Roshi.
My original guesses were:
1-Kid Goku
2. Kid Krillin
3-Roshi
4-Tien
5. King Piccolo
OR swap 4 and 5 and make 5 End of DB Goku.

Can someone give me a quick rundown of what these releases are like? Cropped to 16:9, over-saturated, faux-remastered trash like the DBZ season sets? Or blurred, over-saturated trash like the GT season sets? I can live with blurred, over-saturated trash.
I've been out of the loop for a few months and just found out about
a lot of neat stuff that's been coming out. R1 Dragon Box releases!? Dragon Ball
Kai!? H.O.L.Y C.R.A.P!
Good time to actually have some money in my pockets!

He's introduced as "Spike the Devilman" by Baba, but mostly referred to as just the Devilman. THe full title is only used about once.

Long story short -- 4:3, treated a little softer in the DVNR than GT, English-only title cards, no next episode previews, but hey... 1-13 for the first time uncut and in Japanese for the North American market

Anyway... since the third "season" is going to start with episode 62 (I think?) and that's right at the end of the Red Ribbon Army arc, I dunno who would be good to include on the cover. First was Goku (obviously) and then Kuririn, so let's stick with the heroes. Yamcha? Too soon for Tenshinhan, since Baba's little story arc is next... though I guess ~30 episodes for this set will indeed take us to the 22nd Tenka-ichi Budokai...
InoShikaChō would be a logical choice for the cover...
In seriousness, it's likely to be Tenshinhan since he plays a pretty significant role in the later episodes. This set has to go somewhat into the tournament, to Tenshinhan is present quite a bit toward the end of the set. "Seasons" 4 and 5 will probably have Piccolo Daimao and Piccolo Jr. respectively.
I've got to say, I really like these Dragon Ball sets, just as I did the GT ones. The dub isn't perfect by any means, but it's pretty good overall, and the remastering on these sets looks great (like what Z Seasons 6-9 looked like
sans cropping). I just wish the previews were included. I guess I have to wait for the Dragonball Dragon Box sets for those.
