I am jealous of all of you. The anticipation is killing me.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

I might post some Orange Brick screencaps for comparison later tonight or tomorrow.

A quick comparison. Original FUNimation single DVD release on top. FUNi Dragon Box on bottom.

Greenman, what source did you use for your screencaps? They look really compressed. I'd recommend screencapping them in Media Player classic and then resizing the caps to 640X480 using whatever image program you have (and make sure you set the options so that it doesn't "lock" an image to a certain aspect ratio so you can separately adjust the length and width).

I used the original DVD. I used Media Player Classic to take a screen cap straight from the DVD then used Gimp to resize it to 640X480 using the linear option with aspect ratio lock off. Following the DBox 1 thread payed off. 8)

Hmm, I guess it's just the result of me being tired as hell and reading this thread...

The spine image is going to look a bit odd with all the yellow spaces in between the sets.

^ Almost looks like a first one is a tad bit taller.

Probably just the angle though..

Eeeeew, his forehead bleeds into the first volume. If that had just been hair, it would look fine.

^Yeah well it would look fine if it wasn't in the box but its not really a big deal to me though since i always put my dvd's facing the other way when i put them on a shelf.

When you put the spine art together like that it just looks plain bad, but at least we can display them on the other side.

Wow, looking at those comparison shots between the Dragon Box and the original FUNi singles...we're getting a lot more footage on the Dragon Box.

Gaining footage without cropping and losing footage...what a concept!

Gah, I forgot about the yellow in between the picture.

Yet another reason why ours is less cool.

I prefer the other side anyway showing all 7 dragon balls.. pretty cool how they did that.

The spine art is definitely going to be odd-looking. Perhaps they will sell us one long box that will hold each set's contents. That way, the image will look perfect and they will sit secure on the shelf. Problem solved.

That's wonderful! I'll order mine pretty soon.

Question about the box... did they glue the parts in a cheap way like the first box? And does it have the same "Hard-core" ad the first box had glued on the back?

It looks the same. I haven't seen any indication that anything is going to come loose yet, but we'll see. Yes, it does have the same ad on the back of the box.
