I'm ending this conversation now.

It's absolutely nothing against the original author, but rather due to the inevitable direction the conversation will head towards (canon vs. filler). I. can't. fucking. stand. the conversations that take place surrounding those matters. They're absolutely asinine, never resolve anything, and help nothing but manga purists try and place themselves above any other regular fan.

Why can't you trust the show? Why can't you make deductions based on what you see?

Because it's freakin' DragonBall. The king of the world is a dog, a magician creates a pink blob demon, and the most powerful warrior at the end of the series is a starving child with a mohawk.

It just gets ridiculous. You can't tell what's going on, half the time, because it has to be slowed down in order to for the viewer to tell what's going on. By the 23rd Budokai, we've already got giant demon spawn blowing up rings with blazing speed. WTF are they supposed to do with characters like Freeza? They already did the thing during the Saibaiman battle where characters stand still and move their eyes around... can't do that for the remainder of the series.

Speed and power has to get dumbed down so the viewer can tell what the bloody Hell is going on.

This doesn't mean characters are getting weaker. It means Toriyama wasn't lazy and actually drew the fights.
