Okay, while lack of information is not necessarily information of lack, there's no evidence that points to the moon ever being restored, it's a good bet to assume it didn't unless something specifically contradicts it.
Well, the moon thing wasn't of any relevant importance to the story at the time, so it's perfectly logical to think that it wouldn't be mentioned.
