I dunno, don't think so because of Boo's regeneration. But maybe Goku was telling the truth. We may never know.
Re: Could Goku have really beaten Fat Buu?
but this same goku knew how much power it would take to wipe out kid boo completely, and he was right.

No one can get everything right, you can be wrong sometimes too.jackjack wrote:but this same goku knew exactly how much power it would take to wipe out kid boo completely, and he was right.

Re: Could Goku have really beaten Fat Buu?
What about when fat buu was fighting kid buu?
Towards the end fat buu was out of power, he was drained from getting the crap beaten out of him by the more powerfull kid buu. He couldnt do energy attacks anymore and his body looked hurt which he didnt heal from.
If we look at it like that, full power ssj3 goku could of gotten fat buu down to that state then finished him like he said he could of if he wanted to.

Now STFU and look at my UNBEATABLE argument.jackjack wrote:but this same goku knew how much power it would take to wipe out kid boo completely, and he was right.
Kid Buu NEVER shown his true power until he had to give everything in order to push back the Spirit Bomb.
Kid Buu shot a Kamehameha into Spirit Bomb and it gave no effect. KAMEHAMEHA GAVE NO EFFECT AGAINST SPIRIT BOMB.
Then Kid Buu pushed it back with his bare hands. PUSHED SPIRIT BOMB WITH BARE HANDS WHILE HE COULD DO NOTHING WITH KAMEHAMEHA. Kid Buu powered up only after his attempt to destroy/push back the Spirit Bomb with a Kamehameha.

Somehow, suddenly, I'm wary of this thread.

So am I. I can't tell if people are serious or not, like hleV.
Re: Could Goku have really beaten Fat Buu?
Goku was aware of Fat Buu's regeneration. He shot a hole in Buu's stomack and saw how he regenerated. It's unclear if Fat Buu has shown all of his power to Goku. Goku said that he could have killed Kid Buu too but he didn't know that Kid Buu was hiding an enormous power.
Oh and... why wouldn't I be serious?

Hey savage, does his argument look familiar to you? I think he's being dead serious.Savage68 wrote:So am I. I can't tell if people are serious or not, like hleV.

I can't say it does look particularly familiar to me...jackjack wrote:Hey savage, does his argument look familiar to you? I think he's being dead serious.
I haven't really encountered anyone that doubts that statement. If I have, they had good reason to believe otherwise.
I'm trying to understand what you, and the people on your side are trying to say.hleV wrote:Oh and... why wouldn't I be serious?
Are you saying the chances of him being wrong outweigh the chances of him being right?
Or are you saying the fact that an alive SSj 3 could've wiped Kid Buu away somehow doesn't corroborate the idea that Goku could've killed Fat Buu if he so desired? ...Or that Piccolo's assertion that Goku could've beaten Fat Buu was wrong as well? Or that SSj Gotenks being more or less capable (in Piccolo's eyes) of taking Fat Buu down, despite Piccolo being sure Goku could've done so was also wrong? I'm just trying to find out where your head is at.
Re: Could Goku have really beaten Fat Buu?
By replying to jackjack I destroyed his "goku knew how much power it would take to wipe out kid boo completely, and he was right" statement.
I posted my opinion of Goku annihilating Fat Buu a while ago.
And my point is that VegettoEX's logic, IMHO, isn't right. There were wrong assumptions made by Goku in DB, that means he's possibly did that when talking about Fat Buu. All I'm saying that if he says he could have destroyed Fat Buu, that's doesn't become a fact.

When a character in DB makes a statement and it's never contradicted, that means it's fact.hleV wrote:There were wrong assumptions made by Goku in DB, that means he's possibly did that when talking about Fat Buu. And yeah, now I know where I've seen this argument before.
Re: Could Goku have really beaten Fat Buu?
First of all, Genki Dama wasn't Goku's idea (unless I missed something), he just agreed with Vegeta.jackjack wrote:how so? the genki dama did kill him didn't it?hleV wrote:By replying to jackjack I destroyed his "goku knew how much power it would take to wipe out kid boo completely, and he was right" statement.
Secondly, anyone weaker and probably anyone stronger would have died from that Genki Dama. So it's not necessary (in fact, it's not at all) a measurement of Kid Buu's power.
SSJ3 Goku with gathered energy would no way have killed fully powered Kid Buu, but rather Kid Buu only having power of the time Goku made that assumption.Savage68 wrote:When a character in DB makes a statement and it's never contradicted, that means it's fact.hleV wrote:There were wrong assumptions made by Goku in DB, that means he's possibly did that when talking about Fat Buu. You could try backing that statement up with something.

Re: Could Goku have really beaten Fat Buu?
Okay, okay, lets's make sure to 'keep it shonen' here.
Again, Goku is practically THE sole character in the Boo arc who ever seems to know what he's talking about. If it were Piccolo, or Vegeta, or Kuririn, or Gotenks, or, Dende forbid, Kaioshin making the claims about Goku's ability, then I'd be more wary of the statement's trustworthiness. But nay, we have no reason nor any good in-story evidence to not believe Goku.
He said he could have beaten Fat Boo. We know he was only toying around with him at SSj3 when they fought, in order to stall for time. Nothing contradicts it.
He said he could have beaten Kid Boo. The only reason he didn't was because of SSj3 being too draining on his living body. Under different circumstances, we have no reason to believe he wouldn't wipe the little 'tard from existence.
Oh, and the only reason Boo was able to resist the Spirit Bomb was because Goku was too tired to properly deliver it. Once Goku got his full power restored, it was easy for him. Kid Boo did not suddenly reveal the remaining 95% of his power after holding back, or something ridonkulous like that.

Re: Could Goku have really beaten Fat Buu?
So, you think Kid Buu made some sort of power boost in-between the time he fought Goku and when he "caught" the Genki Dama (that had no force behind it after a certain point)?hleV wrote:SSJ3 Goku with gathered energy would no way have killed fully powered Kid Buu, but rather Kid Buu only having power of the time Goku made that assumption.
