Who Hates Dragon Ball?

For those who are astonished to find someone likes Dragon ball... please tell us why?

Why do we have to dislike it?!

While I love the original series, I can understand why some people may dislike it.

At the beginning, it's very "kiddy". Lots poop/boob jokes. I like it, but I've heard some people say it's too childish because of that.


But, I guess, for the majority of the minority of people who dislike the original DB...it usually comes down to this:

No Super Saiyans.

This is just like saying they dislike "Mobile Suit Gundam" because there are no transforming mobile suits like in "Zeta Gundam".

Anyone who doesn't like Dragonball has clearly not seen the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai.
That arc steams of awesomeness, and contains one of the best fights ever in Dragonball: Goku vs. Piccolo.
The fighting, the techniques, the cliffhangers, the whole air of the fight is wonderful, and it still has a place in my heart, even though I like other manga better now.

But the other arcs in Dragonball aren't bad either.
The problem is that some people claim that DEE BEE ZEE was made for ADULTZ, and that there wasn't enough blood and gore in Dragonball, like a kids show.
And odds are that they haven't even seen Dragonball, since the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai and Piccolo Daimao arcs effectively disprove that.

Hell, we never saw such a fight again after the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai.

Nobody, who is actual Dragon Ball series fan can hate Dragon Ball of course.
If you do, then you hate the whole comic or the first anime series, where it all began, with introduction of characters and cool gags. I'm always killed by Goku's bitchy bitchy gag
Myself I'm fan of both anime series, because I'm fan of Dragon Ball manga. What I hate is when people are separating those two or like or watch only Z. That's awkward. If there is someone who hates Dragon Ball, he's probably not fan.

And yet it's true, sadly. One of my best friends refused to watch Dragon Ball, or even the beginning of DBZ and the first three movies, just because they didn't have Super Saiyans in them.

I love Dragon Ball, maybe I might dislike the red ribbon army stuff but other than that Dragon Ball is just awesome. Saying Dragon Ball sucks is just blasphemy lol. To each is own though I guess.

I just looked at my shelf with my Kanzenban on it, and all I see is "Dragonball". Volume 1 to Volume 34, Pilaf to Boo. All Dragonball.

I think if I hated Dragonball, I'd have no reason to be here.

Dragon Ball really only had a sense of adventure in like the first arc and that was it. Though I like it better than Z.

A lot of people are reacting rather unnecessarily to the question at hand. By "Dragon Ball", he obviously means the Dragon Ball anime, not the comic, or the series as a whole. And trust me, there are plenty of people who don't like Dragon Ball, and Goku100xKamehameha is curious as to why. One reason why people don't like it is because it lacks Super Saiyans. It's a terribly stupid reason, though.

I love Dragon Ball because of the humour and adventure feel to it. I love that it isn't so freakin' focused on fighting, power levels, or Super Saiyans. If there is anything I should hate about Dragon Ball as a whole is how Z's story is told so many times that I'm sick of it, yet I keep buying into it and watching it. True love, right there.

I kinda find it hard to believe someone can hate it when it's the true beginning of the series and sets up all the back story for the characters, and history/lore of the Dragon World. Sure you can watch DBZ without seeing DB and still enjoy it and follow the story without too much trouble, but for the full experience you really need to give DB a fair shot.

Anyway, I enjoy the original DB. I haven't seen it all the way anime-wise, but I have read and enjoyed the manga.

Yeah, I sort of hate Dragon Ball. Because it starts really slow and is really boring at times. When Piccolo came into the picture that is when it became more exciting for me. I just didn't think the plot was really that serious starting out. That is why when Dragon Ball Z came out, everything became more serious and exciting. Especially now. If I were to rewatch Dragonball again, I wouldn't find any jokes or anything to be funny.

I don't like animes much where the author doesn't really give it a good plot line, storyline, or character development. Kind of like Cowboy Bebop(Just random nonsense without a point). Dragon Ball was more for the comedy affect. And right now, I can find more animes that have way better comedy affect then Dragon Ball had started out.

Yes, I'm here because I like DBZ, but I still respect the roots that it started out as.
