This just shows you how dumb some fanslators are...

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Half a page or so (plenty of text) untouched, with "IF YOU KNOW JAPANESE YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS" written underneath. What the fuck? If I knew Japanese, wouldn't I be reading raws? It makes me want to hurt somebody.
I read a scanlation once where the editor couldn't help for some reason but to leave little personal opinion comments all over the manga. A lot of the comments were really rude about certain characters, or certain events. It really began to grate on my nerves. x_x

This is why supporting English manga releases = good. I only ever use scanlations to sample manga anyway, considering we don't have manga magazines over here aside from Jump. ^^ Then I buy what I like. Like Dragon Ball. Having Dragon Ball in nice little book form is a lot nicer than pixelly saturated heavy black and white images on my computer screen. o___O

That reminds me, what was that one group who translated one of Vegeta's lines as, "Come out, you candy-ass faggot!"? I don't know any Japanese, but I read a lot of rants about how it was not at all what he said.

Now, now, no one's condoning the downloading of illegal 'scansalations', as it were. Rather, they're insulting the poor translation and quality of them. No problems there.

Oh, and are there any other well-known bad subbing groups beyond AnimeLabs and Super5?

I just love it how it says (paraphrasing) "Now he's pure evil, and without mercy. By absorbing Dai Kaioushin, Buu lost power, and became gentler." Double-u tee eff?
I have downloaded scanslations before, but mainly to get an English (or rather "Engrish") translation of Japanese titles I already own. And I end up buying officially licenced manga titles anyway.
