Thanks for clearing that up. I personally wouldn't have wanted GT to have lasted longer than it did. Not because it was bad, but because I felt that the Evil Dragons arc was a really awesome finishing point.

Sure, there's moments that piss me off (Goku showing up Krillin vs General Blue, everybody together getting blown away by a heavily weakened Piccolo Jr waving his hand but Goku and his shattered body are still the Only One Who Can Win), but it happens far less frequently than GT's prolonged fellatio.
In all fairness, Goku didn't fair that much better than Kuririn against Blue. In the end, he ended up in the same position as he did, only getting saved by the mouse. And then he got shown up by Arale.

Considering, I think Kuririn was given a good shot at Blue. He pissed him off enough to use cheap tactics, anyway.

The Piccolo stuff.... I'm on the same page as you there.... that was a bit of a cop out.
Yo! Cal's the name. Nice to meet you!

I doubt it. Keep in mind Chu, GT would've actually been canceled a lot sooner, after the Baby arc if I'm not mistaken, had the Playstation game never came out in '97. So even if it was only because of marketing, the fact we'd gotten the Super 17 and Dark Dragon sagas was an extension to GT. In the case of this series, Toei was given more episodes to close the story and they did such without any desire to bring Goku back to his adult form, outside the Goku Jr. special and final episode's epilogue.

Maybe the show's heads had some bizarre Chichi/SSJ4 Goku fetish?
I do remember there being a scene where Chi-Chi does state that Goku looks cool in ssj4. (And then Bulma started arguing with her saying she thought Vegeta's ssj4 looked cooler than Goku's? I don't completely remember.)

SSJ4 Goku getting to be an adult felt like such a tease back when I was first watching GT. There was no explanation for that form being able to bring him back to adult size. It made me think they made only ssj4 Goku an adult because he would look more menacing and because Toei didn't want to let go of their child Goku. TT_TT

My personal theory is Toei missed child Goku so much and liked him so much more than adult Goku that they went out of their way to not bother with wishing him back to normal.

It makes me wonder how Toriyama was able to get a pass from whoever was in charge of him to age Goku up at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai.

Interesting that the Playstation game was able to accomplish all that. O_O

I think they could've done something better with the Dark Dragons arc; because I really like the concept, but the execution of it wasn't nearly as exciting or dangerous as I'd hoped it would be.

Super 17 arc? Well...I like the board game episode, if only for Goku vs Nurse Chi-Chi and her giant hypodermic needle. Also Nappa briefly coming back to life was interesting (though I have trouble not imagining TFS Nappa whenever I reference the character now; so I can imagine him coming back and making some comment to Vegeta about his haircut and then Vegeta killing him again.)

There was that really strangely drawn Goku vs Cell and Freeza episode in the Super 17 arc, but the fact that I recall very little about that particular episode probably means I didn't enjoy it much. I do recall Freeza and Cell frozen in a huge block of ice together at one point though; I think they had funny expressions on their faces.

I wish GT had turned out differently; I do think it's the main reason (aside from production costs) why there hasn't been a new DB-related series since then. I think it scared Toei away from doing anything new.
On hiatus.

I do believe the board game episode was halfway through the Baby arc. Kaioshin saved Goku from Baby's massive energy ball attack, but ended up accidentally dropping him between dimensions. (Then eventually he gets to the Kaioshin world and has his tail restored before returning for the Baby rematch.)
