On the notion of filler, my pro-stance on Kai says it all.
In terms of actual animation, I would not mind the new-style animation at all, but I would prefer seeing the art style reflect Toriyama's art style for each story arc while using new animation techniques.

If the obvious "redrawn from the ground up so it doesn't look awful" answer is out of the question, Kai is pretty much as close to perfect as you can get. Otherwise, a straightforward adapatation with little to no filler, and Kikuchi's score. Basically, do Z like the first Dragon Ball was done.

Well I guess if the new animation is out, then, well, um...regular ol' Z but just with a better cast and the dub music.

To me it has to follow the manga 100 percent. That's all I care about.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Really my ideal version of the series would be the Dragonbox we have- just with a DBZ movies 1-3 quality Ocean dub on the English half. I couldn't get anything better than that.
