DragonBall Z Kai: Vol 2 DVD Set - Dissection / Discussion.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai: Vol 2 DVD Set - Dissection / Discussion.
Does that really say the original Japanese score? As in the real original Japanese score, and not the Kai score?

I remember that in the Nicktoons version after Vegeta killed Cui he said that he's fired, but what does he say on the DVD?

Same thing.DB_Fan1991 wrote:I remember that in the Nicktoons version after Vegeta killed Cui he said that he's fired, but what does he say on the DVD?
A couple things are different though.
Vegeta on Nicktoons says "scrounge up some dignity before I finish you!"
On the set: "scrounge up some dignity before you DIE."
And I dunno what he said on Nicktoons but Vegeta tells him that "the only thing your little ruse succeeded in was pissing me off."

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Hmm, they also said each set will have a different singer. I'm down for that.

So each set will have a different "Dragon Soul"? That's gonna be confusing.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Hmm, they also said each set will have a different singer. I'm down for that.
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Well, it's Kai. Obviously it's going to be the original Japanese score for Kai.Zephyr wrote:Does that really say the original Japanese score? As in the real original Japanese score, and not the Kai score?

Aha, I called that one, I knew that would be the uncut line.ohaimynameiserik wrote: And I dunno what he said on Nicktoons but Vegeta tells him that "the only thing your little ruse succeeded in was pissing me off."
Anyhow, I certainly am greatful the idea of a "new English dragon soul per volume of Kai" is true. Because this new one is completely abysmal and I shudder at the idea of it being the English version for the rest of the English run of the series.

I think that'll be pretty cool, actually. It gives us something new to look forward to each time we buy a box set. I dunno, I guess I'm biased because I love English-dubbed Japanese songs, got a whole playlist dedicated to 'em on my iPod.SuperSaiyan3Goku wrote:So each set will have a different "Dragon Soul"? I'm a little disappointed that they kept the "you're fired," line. I thought for sure that was an edited alt line. Not disappointed enough to not buy the set by any means, though. And I totally thought Vegeta's real line was "pissing me off," so I"m glad they did that.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:

Can't wait till I get paid so I can pick this one up, looks awesome!
(I wish I could just win it like I did last time...)
Anyway, I'm actually pretty happy with this "New singer every time" Idea for Dragon Soul. I think the Justin Cook version is... pretty bad, but I like the Idea because so far the Vic Mignogna version is the best, an It makes me think EVENTUALLY they'll use the Vic version on the Blu-ray (Unless the "Creditless Broadcast version" was the FULL TV-sized one, and not just half of half the song like it is on TV) just because I wana hear the full TV-sized one sung by Vic.

Oh. well that blows. What's the point of even putting that though? Its not like the US version had a different soundtrack (save for the redubbed insert songs, but still).ohaimynameiserik wrote:Well, it's Kai. There are (unfortunately) A TON of people complaining that Bruce Faulconer's score is not being used in Kai. So my guess is that was put there to warn customers.Zephyr wrote:Oh. well that blows. Re: DragonBall Z Kai: Vol 2 DVD Set - Dissection / Discussion.
The "Creditless Broadcast version" was the same exact length as what aired on TV. Vic only recorded it at that length. He said he did record the full version at an earlier time, but he sung it differently and close to the Japanese singer. He was told to sing "gritty" for the TV version.DemonRin wrote:Can't wait till I get paid so I can pick this one up, looks awesome!

Not at all to warn customers, that'd be stupid.TheBlackPaladin wrote: There are (unfortunately) A TON of people complaining that Bruce Faulconer's score is not being used in Kai. So my guess is that was put there to warn customers.
It's to get customers like myself and most others on this site psyched to buy it.

I had to do it. I couldn't resist.
Justin Cook and Sean Schemmel duet on Dragon Soul.
EDIT: Vic Mignogna, Seán Schemmel and Justin Cook ALL sing Dragon Soul at the same time.

Awesome. At least now I won't get as bored hearing Dragon Soul over and over again.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Hmm, they also said each set will have a different singer. I'm down for that.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai: Vol 2 DVD Set - Dissection / Discussion.
That's unnecessary and misleading. Kai only had ONE score, and the Falconer score preceded it chronologically, so its more original in my eyes. Not that I actually care for the Falconer score much anymore though. If they're going to use the only version of the (Kai) score, and the NEWEST (Dragonball) one at that, then they should not be advertising it as the original or the Japanese score, when its not the first score and its international.TheBlackPaladin wrote:There are (unfortunately) A TON of people complaining that Bruce Faulconer's score is not being used in Kai. Can't say I'm a big fan of Justin Cook's version of Dragon Soul. I was hoping to hear Vic's version this time around during the episodes. Oh well... maybe volume 3 will have it, and at least it's one of the Extras.

I think you're putting too much thought into it. They mean "original score" as in the score thats originally in Kai...the show that's on the set.
