One thing that I felt that was overrated about martial arts is that a guy who's been fighting on the streets his whole life will have a much better chance at winning a fight as opposed to a black belt who's only experience is sparring.

If fighting on the street is equivalent to Vegeta fighting armies of entire PLANETS, then Vegeta would win hands down.

Suppose Goku and Vegeta were just regular humans. They have the same limitations as regular humans do;they cannot fly, shoot out powerful blasts, and they don't have the super strength and super speed of the Saiyans. All they have is just their unarmed martial arts skills.

Who do you think would win if they fought under such conditions?

Goku wins this match? How about you? What do you think?
What conditions? The battlefield will determine the winner if both humans. If it's an octagon cage, Goku will win. In urban warfare it could be completely different.

Generally martial arts with systems of belts you can earn in a few years is worthless. So there's a lot of truth to that "overrated" aspect.

Goku would win. He was trained by the great Kame-sennin, Karin, Kami-sama, and Kaio-sama, trained with guys like Pikkoro, etc. Bejita seems to rely more on pure power, chi, etc than actual martial arts.

That was all chi-training, though. Roshi's was the only one that was at all physical.

If you take the BS Bullshido Martial arts classes. Those are frauds.

However if you take actual authentic martial arts such as Boxe Francaise AKA Savate or the Korean version of Full Contact TKD, a guy who's been fighting on the streets his whole life would be easy to crush(I seen cops who are master Savate fighters knock out dangeroud murderous convicts with a single kick or punch on recorded videos of riots by dangerous criminals in Paris)!

Problem is most martial arts school in the West especially in America are Bullshido(term used in martial arts for fraud martial arts school or styles that teaches fake or inaccurate techniques or training methods that do more harm than effectiveness). However in the full contact styles that are only usuallly taught in the martial art's country of origin such as Russian Combat Sambo and Dans La Rue Savate train you for various street fighting and self defense scenarios and actually conduct in full contact no holding back sparring and actually make you inefficient in fighting.

For actual masters of true martial arts I would be all my money that they could easily break the bones or knock out a streetwise battle hardened convict or thug who only learned fighting from streetfighting and don't know any basic martial arts not even boxing or wrestling.

BTW just because one is a blackbelt doesn't mean one is an expert in the art. In fact as my Judo teachers tells me, if you become a blackbelt you simply still only a begginer and you have an extremely long way to go until become a True master.
